I recently adopted an adult cat. I absolutely love everything about her, except for when I'm sleeping, she always jumps on my bed and attacks my feet, it doesn't matter if my feet are underneath the covers, or exposed. And it actually hurts alot! I love her sleeping on the bed with me, but I really don't like it when she attacks my feet though. She hates the spray bottle that I have for when she attacks my feet, but I dont want to use it too much and her not want to get on the bed with me, or be afraid I will squirt her every time she jumps up there. Is there any way that I can communicate with her to let her know that it is ok to get on the bed to SLEEP, but not ok to attack my feet?

i have the same problem my kitten attacks my feet at night. sometimes he will hide under the couch and attack my feet when i sit down. I don't really know what to do about it. The spray bottle is a pretty good idea though.

Aw, you have a playful kitty. When you use the spray bottle, tell her in a firm voice, "No scratch." When she cuddles with you the way you want, tell her she's a good kitty. You also might want to do something before bed every day to let the cat know that it's sleep time, not play time. Or maybe you could play with her before you go to bed and after you're done, tell her that play time is over and it's time for bed.

Hi! I have the same thing with my cat. Sometimes it also hurts, but what I do is that I put a planket on my feet, so if he wants to play with my feet, I won`t have pain. And another advice is that before getting to sleep I play with him first, as he likes, and then he is no more interested in my feet. So good luck with your solution. Don`t forget - wherever it is, just love him the way he is.
All the best,
Mika

Does she do it in a freaky humping type way? Because if so, my cat (which is a adult male) does the same thing. He will get on my bed and then like claw into my sheets and like purr and then move his hind legs as if he were interacting with a female cat. But he is neutered, so I do not know if that plays any affect on to things.

she wants to play and hopefully you do not give her the satisfaction. She sees your toes wiggling/twitching and thinks they are something to chase after. Inore it as much as possible. If she gets to the point where you cant ignore her, remove her from the room. Eventually she will realize that sleep time is not play time. It mihgt also help if you play really intense with her a little while before bed (15 min- chasing her, toys on string) to help her hunting tendency

Go to the store and buy a big, heavy pillow to place over your feet at night. Put a heating pad on your bed where you want your kitty to sleep, and turn it on low. Eventually she will get used to sleeping on the heating pad and forget all about your feet.

is she biting your feet? if so i had the same problem with my cat. For about 2 months i wore 2 pairs of really think socks so that i couldnt not feel any pain when my cat bit them. After a while, he realized that biting my feet wasnt much fun as i wasn't reacting anymore and he hasnt done it since.

The factors of interest is that there is a few thing hidden uder the blanket, as she sees it. No situation with that. All cats are clearly curious. merely close her out of the room, or positioned some thing she would not like on the blanket.

ahaha
my kitty dose the same thing!
i love it when he sleeps with me, but he also bites my face
i tell him no in a stern voice
he listens very well but he dose it again
i repeat my no for about 5 times
then i tap his bum and say it again
if he still dosent listen i pick him up by his ruff and put him on the ground and say no
if he dose it one final time
i put him downstairs where his food and water and bed are and close the door.
i get him in the morning :)

its not mean tho its teaching him. he stops for about a week.. then he forgets

My Zoey does this also, for the cat it is playtime. Close the bedroom door. I just ignore Zo and she gives up.
