Okay, we got a female cat 3 years ago, and she has managed to pee on our expensive wood painted wall 2 times, making the wood fall off everytime you touch it, pee on the side of a 900 dollar piano, and pee everywhere on a red carpet (thnakfully my parents haven't noticed that yet) My mom is discheraged everyday from this, she feels like our house is ruined. She says we have tried everything, which I know we haven't. I love our cat, so giving her away isn't an option, nore is getting a new wood painted wall, piano, and carpet. PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPLLLEase help me, I'm dying, I have no idea how to fix this, the wall is ruined, but there has to be a solution, please, we need a miracle, and my dad can't know, so ewe can't do anything that will make him noticed, I pray for us to find a solution, and for my mom to stop being so depressed, if you have any solutinos, what so ever, please let me know! ANYTHING WILL DO!!!!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just a kid! GOD BLESS to all!

Hi there. Does anyone have insight on various tail swishes that my Kitty has? I am aware that a fast moving tail back and forth may indicate she is upset. I find this very fascinating. If anyone has more info..id be so thankful to learn more, thanks!

My dominant female always slept on a big cushion bed in the corner. I had to move the bed and now someone is peeing on it. I washed the cover and put it back and somebody (I have 5 cats) just peed it again! My cats have NEVER peed anywhere but the litter box. What could be the problem here? Could somebody be marking it since it's in new place in order to claim it?

My 9 year old cat generally never wears a collar. But since our house is on the market and there have been a number of brokers coming and going, I put a collar on him just to be on the safe side in case one of the Broker's accidentally let him out. Now that I've taken the collar off after about a month, I've noticed that his fur has all fallen off under where the collar was and he has a bald ring around his neck :( Can anyone tell me if this will grow back or have I permanently disfigured my handsome cat?

I have this two year old cat who just started scratching on our walls, doors and dressers. She has a scratching post, and when she does this it's only at night when my husband and I are trying to sleep. If we close the door, she scratches at the door. It's driving us nuts, and I'm at the point where I want to get rid of her because I can't sleep at night anymore. I've tried looking up solutions online, but none direct this problem. I need help and don't know what to do... Anyone have any tips??

I have two kittens 9 months old with seperate litter boxes. My female kitten will use the box to poop in, and sometimes pee, but only after one or two uses, even if its clean, she will pee out side the box. She doesnt poop outside, she goes in the box for that, her problem is only with going pee. Sometimes its in different spots around the litter box, what can I do?

I got her at 8 weeks, but now she is 5 monthes she loves me and i love her but is their a way to train her to not scratch people i mean she gets to playful and goes crazy on my arm i have like scars. ok so my kitten i want her to sleep with me on my bed but she perfers under but i dont mind she doesnt have a scrating post i trained her to use the litter box and she never had problems with that. But im most concerned with her scratches i have young family members who like playing with her but she is a little to rough with them. Any tips or advice with this. Oh and her name is Lucky! these people actually breed their cats on purpose without homes in advance and then complain they "can't get ride of 'em." My husband and I went to look at their litter 3 female kittens and they were all a little skittish and clawed us pretty badly trying to cling on for dear life. The old owner said the reason they're kind of scared of people is because they let their six year old drag them around the house. Does anyone have any tips for how I can go about trying to tame the two females we rescued? We don't want them to claw us or be afraid of us and if we hadn't taken them they would have ended up in a pound or on the streets. Thanks

today she started moaning so we got her all settled in... she birthed one kitten and I knew it was too small. She wouldnt touch it so I started to rip the sac. The kitten wasnt fully developed.. no hair and about the size of a stocky mans middle finger..it was dead...momma cat ate the placenta but I took the kitten away before she could eat it...cleaned herself up and went about her way... 6 hours later she is perfectly fine .. no bleeding.. no moaning.. I can still feel kittens moving inside.. what do you make of this???

The last few days he has been sleeping all day long.. He only gets up to eat and go to the litter box, and occasionally change rooms.

He has always been lazy, but not this much.

Could he be sick? He doesn't have fever, and he eats and drinks water and goes to the litter box normally.

Also he had some kind of dry skin little spots or something. I think it itched, because he kept scratching. And when they disappeared they left a little wound under it, but that is healing normally. What could that have been?

My three year old cat was so itchy two years ago and developed skinlesions that would scab and bleed. I took her to two separate vets. They did food trials, bloodwork, fleas negative, ringworm negative, ear mites negative, feline leukemia negative. They tried antibiotics, flea meds, and gave steroids for relief. To make along story short, before consenting to a biopsy or expensive allergy testing, I went to a local natural petfood store and got some different food. She has been perfectly fine for a whole year. Now, two weeks ago , she has started with the skin problems again. Anybody else have similar experience?? I have made appt. with vet next week but wonder if anyone has advice.

I've had my cat for about a year now and i've noticed that it likes to get in plain cardboard boxes and sleep. Every time i have a box lying around he just gets in it and stays. Size does not matter for him, he is almost 12 pounds and he gets in boxes that are to small for him! I know i shouldn't be worried i just want to know why he is obsessed with boxes?!

My 4 week old kitten's poop is runny on a regular basis. She was weaned too early and is now on a mixture of wet food and kitten milk - is this a normal consistency given the situation?

My cat is 17 years of age, I have caught her 3 times lying in her litter box, is this a sign that she's having trouble Urinating? Could this be a sign of kidney problem? She doesn't go any where else but her litter box..

Recently, my friend was over, and I picked my cat up and held him like a baby and started scratching his tummy, which made him purr. My friend then told me that purring is not a happy or content sounds, but a sound cats make when they are upset, she said cats use purring like a "self comforting" technique when they are scared or unhappy, to calm themselves down. Has anyone else hear this? One way, my cat is relaxed and happy and loves me, the other he is scared an upset pretty much 24/7!

HI--we adopted an 11 mo. old cat from the shelter 5 days ago. We have had her in the basement and she is was doing okay---we introduced her over to the main floor for an hr or so over the last couple of days---we took her to the vet for her check up yesterday(all is fine)--but since then she is SO SCARED and refuses to come upstairs...when she was up here the last couple of times--she got scared form the phone....mirrors--all the action on the main floor...now when we bring her up she hides--runs down stairs. When we open the basement door she will never come up,etc. Should we continue to encourage--carry her up or just let some time go by? I feel so bad to just leave her in the basement and we can't spend all day down there. Thank you

As a teaching lesson I slapped my kitten on her nose as a "NO" reinforcement. I felt terribly guilty. It works-but I would not like it if someone slapped me. I am going to cease this action going forward-right? I have done this four times within the last 3 months. Afterward she just curled up and ran away and looked scared. I am wondering-DOES KITTY REMEMBER if slap her? Is it really bad? Obviously it's an age-old child reinforcement - is this a terrible thing I've done? Please advise me. I love Kitty but am a new owner.

Three days ago I gave two kittens to a lady...last night she told me she has mild allergies & gives cats baths with Dawn dishwashing liquid to lower dander & kill fleas...I asked her to please not do this, as I have seen pics of cats given baths with products not for cats..such as people shampoo, soaps, dog products...not only does it remove the oils they need, it can kill them...it can act like an acid & literally burn them...it might be fine on one, then kill another...you just don't know...She says she did it to her two for years & that's just vets wanting to scare you into buying expensive products...I'm very upset & thinking I made a very wrong decision in giving her the kitties...If anyone has some facts or links I could show her, it would be greatly appreciated...& yes, I would take them back in a heartbeat..
