We had three cats. Two didn't have trouble with gas but one did. If the cat started purring, it was a sign to put him down because one was coming. The cat would also walk in front of my husband while he was laying on the floor watching tv, let one rip and then take off..........
My guess is the food.

If your cat is farting then it is probably the food your feeding him. Oily foods can cause this to happen, also if you are feeding him dairy products he could be lactose intolerant. Try changing his foods and see what happens. Fish can also have this effect on cats so try feeding him regular dry cat food and water.

Most of the time this is due to change in diet. If you have switched their foor or treats lately, go back to what you were using before. I recommend dry cat food. If that fails, try a cork?

Could be a change in food (if that has changed). Also, one of my cats has a tendency to express his anal sacs when he is happy, especially after a visit to the litter box. It's foul smelling and he's not fun to be around when it happens. If they haven't had a change in diet it might be worth a check at the vet, or at least a call to them. They may be having anal sac issues.

It probably has to do with the food they are eating. Did you change it recently? If so you might try going back to what they were used to. If not you might give changing it a try. When my cat was a kitten wet food gave her really bad gas so you might try focusing on dry food for now.

usually it depends on what you're feeding him. Table food, especially stuff like tuna tend to give cats gas. Stick with catfood and you'll probably clear up the problem.

It is probably from their food. Did you recently switch brands? Or it could be something more serious. Check to make sure that they are going to the bathroom consistently. If the litter box is poop-free then you've got a problem!

Have you changed food or given table scraps? That will do it. Some is normal...if it gets too much call the vet and ask.
