My cat is a little over a year old, for a while now he eats constantly i mean all the time then he pukes it up and wants more food. He goes through a 3 lb bag of cat food in like 4 days. he eats every hour. everything else is normal his poop, he doesnt have worms and people keep assuring me hes okay but i cant handle this anymore. If i dont feed him when he wants he meows untill i do or he knocks his bowl around and gets into the dog food untill i do. Any one know what i should do or what could be wrong? or do i just have a fat spoiled cat?

the breeder that I got 2 of my kittens from just called and asked me for help. Now she's going to a serious medical illness right now and to top it off, her cats and kittens have serious upper respiratory infections. I have 5 healthy cats of my own and am VERY nervous about doing this. I know its risky. Would you do this? Have you been through this? What can I do to prevent my cats from getting sick?

Did I do the right thing in taking the two mice my cats caught last night? I’ve suspected that I’ve had mice in my house for a few weeks, so I’ve put out mouse traps, the enclosed ones. I haven’t caught anything; well last night my boys caught to ‘baby’ mice, they were pretty small mice. I honestly didn’t want them to kill the mice and mainly I didn’t want them to eat the mice. My house is really close to a corn field where they use pesticides and the previous owners of my house used rat/mouse poisoning heavily. So I have been extremely leery of letting my cats eat mice. Well I took the first mouse away and threw it outside, it was still alive, but you could tell it was hurting, so I assumed it would die and the second mouse I didn’t get to in time to ‘save’ it, the cats killed it. But I threw it out back into the field. I know mice carry disease and fleas and worms and potential poisoning, so was I right in intervening or should I have let the cats eat the mice?

i have two problems with my cat:

1) at night, he'll come out when i'm sleeping and scratch at the closet door, trying to get in (i don't want him to go into my closet). he'll even launch himself at the door and i'll wake up to a big thud. i've tried almost everything to get him to stop scratching because it's really annoying and loud; i've tried the no-scratch sprays (they don't do ANYTHING) and then i've tried clapping my hands really loudly to get him to go away from the door. how can i get him to stop?

2) my cat refuses to come out during the day. he hides in my box spring because there's a tear in the fabric, but ever since i cut the fabric off he's been really nervous and scared, as if he's afraid of the sunlight or something. he doesn't want to be petted or be close to people. but after about 7 pm, he's a nice, normal, friendly cat who always wants attention. what's wrong with him?

my cat's 4 1/2 years old and i've had him for about a month.

I am 4.5 weeks pregant and have a kitten. He's an indoor cat. I am concerned about his kitty litter b/c I am usually the one who cleans it and have heard that its dangerous for pregnant woman due to the cats poo carrying a dangerous virus. I am wondering if this is common in mostly outdoor cats or if I should be nervous. Is it just through the cats poop that you can get the virus or is it from holding and kissing the cat too. My kitten is very snuggly and sleeps with us and I want to make sure that I am safe.

I use special kitty but I looked at the ingredients the other day and it had by products. Is that bad?

What's the best cat food brand?

Technically, he has cream points, but for all intents and purposes, he looks solid white. A lot like the fancy feast cat. I was trying to thnk of a unique name for him. I am considering Dolce or Sugar Daddy. Any other ideas?

I was looking at the fur on my cat's belly this morning and I found all these tiny little black specks in his fur; some of them were kind of "c" shaped. They're not on his skin, I could pick them out. What are these? They LOOK like dirt but it can't be dirt because he is an indoor cat. I also know they are not fleas because I saw my mom's cat when it had fleas and this does not look like that. These are smaller than fleas. Are these worms? What should I do?

Early this year I rescued 3 kittens (sisters), and now they are all 8 months old and all have been fixed. They all behave very well as kittens. However, one of them would only use the litter box for peeing, and she would only poop next to the box. I tried a lot of things with her, like getting her own box, a bigger box, or giving her more privacy... I catch her when she is about to go outside the box and tell her no and put her in the box right away. Still, she would still only go right next to the box when I am not watching. What do I do??

We have 2 cats and we have recently discovered they came to us pretty much infested with fleas....I have dipped them, and recently found eggs and larvae in my daughters bed. I immediately stripped her bed and put everything in the washer! Her rugs went into a plastic bag until I can find how to take care of them. We were all seriouslly alarmed by this and are taking the steps to rid our home completely, but I am very concerned about the fleas infesting us...is this possible?? Thank You!!

I have adopted 2 adult cats and find they have ear mites. There is a simple and safe remedy but I cannot recall what it is.
Can anyone advise? I can go to a vet and will if necessary but a consultation and prescription will cost $100 or more which I can ill afford. Thank you for your help.

I have two cats, one of them when i smoke doesnt mind, he likes to watch the smoke patterns and he isnt bothered by me having the cigarette per se.

The other one however really doesnt like the smoking, or me when i have one..he'll give me little dirty looks, wont come near me and when he does jump near me when smoking as a soon as he realises, he chunters at me..makes his dipleasurable noises and runs away from me in a mood untill the smoke is gone??

He is a whilte cat and very sensitive, pink everywhere, thin skin, the other is more robust.
