yep. a lot of people use leashes to take their cats outside if the cat is worth a lot of money, or simply dont want it to run away. a leash is a good idea and you can get cat leashes from a pet store :-)

My cat Booger is declawed and had always been a house cat ( We rescued him from a shelter). My husband and I felt sorry for him having to stay inside so we opted for the leash. At first he was a little skiddish but then learned to really enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately, we obviously spoiled him by taking him out because now when we bring him in, he sits at the door and whines like a cat in heat. He is now a permanent outside cat.

It is ok to put your cat on a leash but once you start he will beg and cry to go out even more ...

yes it is but expect him to enjoy it and bother you more to be out, so if you don't want to be hearing more crying and won't have time to cater to this maybe you should just keep him in. i had a cat i put on a leash, he would go out there and graze like a cow, gross thing was he would come in and barf up the grass. if you like you could bring a little grass in to see if he would like some, not that you want him to barf but they like it i think. cats cry at all close doors, they are curious, so it's normal for him to want to see what's on the other side even if it didn't lead outside.

Yes, but you will need to get your cat used to the leash. Put it on him for short lengths of time until he is comfortable in it.

Otherwise he will chew through it.

ONLY if you're there holding the end of it. No cat should be tied out, they can choke themselves or squirm out of the collar or harness.

But if you're there with them, then yes, it's ok.
