Two products that you should be able to get hold of would be great.

As a milk substitute get a product called Lactol, 100 x better than wiskas milk.

Also Royal Canin do a product called baby cat, http://www.royalcanin.co.uk/your_cat/kitten.aspx

ok, as i have seen this in the vet's office, go to vet, buy a small bottle, they have them there, and get a can of baby kitten formula. U can get it at wal- mart for much cheaper, and follow instructions on the can. I think she may need to be fed about ecvery 4-6 hours, I am not sure, I am just guessing. Keep her warm and safe, good luck! In the meantime, use a clear medicinal syringe, with evap. milk, diluted just a lil bit, NO Regular milk!! and mixed with a lil sugar, and u are go to go.

Yes you are right, one shouldn't feed any kitten or cat milk as cats are naturally lactose intolerant. But if you go to the vet and they give you a milk formula, rest assured it is specifically formulated for cats and kittens.

In the mean time try feeding it some kind of porridge mixed with water (in South Africa we have Pro Nutro, I don't know if you know it). Porridge is full of nutrients but just feed a little at a time, or you can get pellets and soak them in warm water so it gets soggy.

Don't use your regular fridge milk, go out to a place like petco and buy a can of kitten milk..
Warm it up as you would do for a baby. (feel it before you give it to her)
At 6 weeks I didn't have to bottle feed my cat anymore, but I guess it may be different for yours.

Your kitten should be able to start eating solid food now.
So, I would recommend buying some. (Kitten Formula of course)

With my cat, when she first started eating we mixed moist (canned) food with a little solid food, to get her used to it.
Then started adding more solid food, and taking away the moist. Now we just give her moist food on special occasions.

i have 11 cats and kittens and when i first start the kittens on real food i put watered down weet-bix with warm water so its like a paste and just show the kitten by carefully putting its nose in the food. you could also put some kitten milk on the side in another bowl but make sure that there is fresh water at all times as they can get away with no milk but need water.

Get kitten formula. Don't give it milk. Milk gives them the runs. I had a cat who was a week old and the vet said to give it formula. It's like baby formula but it's made for kittens. You will also need a bottle.

at 6 weeks you should be able to feed her proper kitten food, small quantities at first and offer regular meals. Milk isn't good for cats, it's made for cows- (a kitten can die from dehydration caused by the squits really quickly) it can ruin their digestive system and you'll end up with a cat who has permanent problems. I have a rescue cat who was indulged by his previous owner by feeding him milk everyday till he was 6 months old and now though he is on a very strict and consistent diet, he still has soft stools and bloody mucus. (I have had veterinary advice!) Just ask your vet when you go in to get the jabs and discuss neutering.

I don't remember who makes it, but they have food at most grocery stores and pet shops for kittens, it has mothers milk in it and it comes in a pink box shaped like the old cardboard milk cartons.
Milk don't hurt kittens it just usually gives them the squirts. This link has other helpful hints. also you said it was 6 weeks old so it no longer need milk but still enjoys it, feed it either canned food (soft) or just get kitten chow and water it down just enough to soften it.

:)

Of course u can giv milk to cats especially kitten cos milk is their approriate meal.but remember u can only feeds them with specially formulated kitten milk tat u can get from the vets or sometimes at the supermarket(under pets area). when u giv milk to the kitten, make sure u follow the instruction on how to fix it.u can still giv water to kitten but i dont think it will be necessary cos she can utilize water from the milk itself. do not attempt to giv cow's milk or any other human drinkable milk to cats(kitten or adult) cos it will cause severe allergies reaction and may cause death. if baby bottle is still too big for the kitten's mouth, u can use medication syringes for a better outcome. dont starve the kitten while waiting to bring her to the vets.gud luck!
