Stop your kitten from getting on your table and countertops?
Mine is about 6 months old, and we have raised her since birth, by ourselves since she was about 5 weeks old. She is spoiled and we love her to death, but she thinks she can get on the table and counters even though we get on to her. Any suggestions on how to train her to stay off of these places???
Thanks in advance.

We are looking to welcome another cat into our home. My husband keeps asking me to ask you guys ... "what cats tend to have a more affectionate temperment?" Meaning ... cuddily ... (may I add we are looking for a shorthair)

I keep telling my hubby all cats have differing personalities ... but I would ask anyways.

BTW ... we have a year old bengal boy ... Buddha ... and he is getting lonely.

Also ... Any other suggestions for us in the "looking" and "intro" process

Thanks much!

the humane society said they neutered him when we adopted him but i'm wondering if there wasn't a mix up and he didn't get neutered. he's constantly trying to mate with stuffed toy animals in our house and we recently adopted a 8 week old female kitten that has not yet been spayed. i'm getting conflicting answers on when to get her spayed as well. some vets say 3 months and others say 6 months. help please!

Hi. My poor sweet cat has a very bad case of fleas. I have used the Zodiac products in the past and they have worked just fine but this year nothing seems to be working. The Zodiac medicines or the collars don't help. Any suggestions?

My cat got a tooth extraction about 3 weeks ago. After he wasn't doing so great. We took him back to the vet and fluid had filled his chest. They gave us medicine to make that go away.

About a week went by and he wasn't eating. He has been loosing weight since the tooth extraction. We took him to a different vet to get a different opinion. They said the fluid was constricting his breating. They drained the fluid.

The fluid was clear and watery. They tested it and they came up with the possibility of Cancer, Heart Disease, or FIP. But it's just weird because he has never shown any signs of these BEFORE the surgery on his teeth.

He now has a ok appetite. He goes outside. He is slowly gaining weight back and his breating seems alright.

Now I just want any input. PLEASE!
What do you guys think?

I don't want to take them to the pound as they could be put down. Also the animal shelter that is meant to be "no kill" will put them down if they seem dangerous or do not get on with people after a short period of time. I have a cat that I adopted from the pound and another cat that was a stray and decided to stay. But this week there is another stray that has decided to stay. When does it stop? At first they are scared of me but then when they see that I won't harm them and that I give out food they like me. And I know you shouldn't feed them but they still eat the food from my other cats. So what is the best thing to do for them? My cat prefers to be the only cat here. She loves people but doesn't like other cats and will hiss at them if they go near her. The first stray loves to chase her and the second now loves to steal her food. She is smaller than the other cats. What would you do in this situation? (Keeping her inside is not an option).

should i wait till he is done with his course of antibiotics? is is safe to worm him at the same time or should i wait? i ask because worms tend to keep animals from absorbing minerals and such from their food and was wondering if they would prevent his body from absorbing the antibiotic.thanks to all who answer :)

I don't know why. She's young and very healthy. But, in the past year or so, there have been three times where she has lost a tuft of fur about an inch in diameter, each time on a different part of her body.

The first time it was on her front leg, and there was a strange sore where the fur fell off.

The second time there were cuts where the fur had fallen off on the top of her neck.

And now this time, it is on one of her front legs again, but there is no sore or cut, just... a lack of fur.

I have no idea if these three incidents are related or what's causing them. I realize the obvious thing to do is to take her to the veterinarian, but I am a poor college student at the moment, so any help on here would be very appreciated.

I have 5 cats at various ages, who have always had the pleasure of having the door opened and closed for them when they tapped on the window....
I've just installed a cat flap in the door, as i'm now working during the day...
The one cat i thought the least intelligent! is slowly getting the idea, just sits there looking in, paw padding the flap)...the others are showing no interest and just meow on the window sill..... I've tryed tempting them through with food but no luck...Any more ideas? Thanks.......

besides losing their dignity
would you ever dress your cat in clothes designed especially for cats?
if you thought they looked to darn cute.

I have a cat who used to be a barn cat that I want to get neutered. Would most vets make sure he is up to date on his shots? I spoke with my dogs vets office and they do require it. I was wondering if all vets would.

I feed her purina indoor formula and i use tidy cats clay litter. Her poo smells terrible. I clean the poo and pee out once daily and sanatize the box weekly. Is there a better litter or food that I could use?

My cat peed on my couch =(. He's never done this before, however, it smells terrible and it's in the cracks of the cushions. Do you guys know of any "home remedies" (ie: things that aren't ridiculously priced, store-bought products) to get the stench out? Any ideas about getting way down in the crevices? Thanks!

They are brother and sister and always got along but they are hating each other right now. Is it b/c they are in pain? He seems to be perfectly fine but she is so miserable. The poor thing keeps falling and looks so sad. Why is he okay and she's not? Another thing...they keep taking the collar thingy off but not licking. Is this ok??

my dad picked up a kitten that was rejected by its mother. the people that gave him away said that he is about 5 weeks old.

i have noticed he has been sleeping all day and has really runny stool. he also has green goopy stuff in his eyes.

what does this mean? i heard that it could be just because it was taken away from its mother too soon.

also my other questions is it ok to give kittens milk??? if not what should i try feeding him?

PLEASE HELP! thanks =]

my lil furbaby six months is very frightened of them. he hides behind the sofa and his mummy (cat) can not get to him to comfort him and we are now very worried as she is getting stressed out which is making daddy (cat) 'shout' and we have tried everything to get bagheera (kitten) out from behind the sofa and calm the situation down but it is getting worse. my next door neighbour is letting fireworks off every day now and won't stop till after bonfire night. when we go out we leave music or the t.v on but even this isn't helping they have lots of places to hide but as bagheera has chosen the most awkward of places that none of us can get to and he is a bag of nerves and is crying out for comfort. i have tried to speak to the person but he won't listen and the vet can't put bagheera on meds as he is too little and has been poorly recently. please help sensible answers only

I am moving into an apartment with my best friend and the rules state that there are no animals, but the tenant has cats and I have 3 kittens that I just CANNOT abandon. But I don't want to get caught with them in the apartment. Can our tenant just come into our homes anytime she wants? I can't leave the kittens with my bf's mom she already said she will take them into the country and let them go and then they'll die. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

She is an indoor cat who has never been outside. Family looked everywhere. She was missing over a week. The husband happened to look into the woods one day, saw her and she took off. Could not find her. Just happened to see her later run into a gopher hole. Cages set up with food, but she's too scared to come out. It is a calico cat, well kept, and groomed.
