I have a cat who used to be a barn cat that I want to get neutered. Would most vets make sure he is up to date on his shots? I spoke with my dogs vets office and they do require it. I was wondering if all vets would.

I am not sure about where you live but I am in Michigan and they do not require it. You might want to call a few other vets about that it might just be your current vet that requires it. Good Luck

Most all vets require it. It just ensures that the vet and the employees are protected. But most vets will allow you to do the vaccinations while neutering.

You can just call around and see. Most vets will require it before neuter. You may find a spay/neuter clinic that does not require it.

A GOOD veterinarian will require all cats and dogs undergoing surgery to be current on both rabies and distemper vaccines. THIS IS NOT ONLY GOOD MEDICINE, BUT IT IS ALSO FOR THE SAFETY OF THE OTHER ANIMALS AND THE EMPLOYEES.
