should i wait till he is done with his course of antibiotics? is is safe to worm him at the same time or should i wait? i ask because worms tend to keep animals from absorbing minerals and such from their food and was wondering if they would prevent his body from absorbing the antibiotic.thanks to all who answer :)

yes- it is safe.
antibiotics will not help the VIRAL infection your cat has (URI). It only helps secondary bacterial infections. URI is like the flu.... we would only take antibiotics if it changed to green or yellow mucous congestion. If they are only having mild cases where you see just sneezing, watery eyes, and clear mucous- the antibiotics will not treat it (viral).
What may help ESPECIALLY with discharge from the eyes- is putting LYSINE powder in the food at 250 mg per day. This helps stop herpes virus and helps boost the immune sytem. IT IS SAFE an just a protein.
you can get it in powder or capsule form (then dump out the powder from the capsule) at health food stores.

but yes- get him wormed- but only at the vets- the over the counter stuff can be harmful and may treat the wrong worms.

You can worm while on antibiotics. I hope with meds that you got from the vet.

its better to wait till hes off the meds. then de-worm him.. thats the best choice you dont want to cause any problems
