My cat peed on my couch =(. He's never done this before, however, it smells terrible and it's in the cracks of the cushions. Do you guys know of any "home remedies" (ie: things that aren't ridiculously priced, store-bought products) to get the stench out? Any ideas about getting way down in the crevices? Thanks!

I use Nature's Miracle and it does very well on dog urine. I have used similar products on cat urine with differing results. The key is to put the cleaner on in an amount that will soak into the entire stain, and then let it sit. If the smell is getting worse, or not better at all, it may be possible that the cat is going back to that spot again. It may be to a point where you will have to replace the stuffing or foam if possible. Baking soda sprinkled on and around the stain may help absorb the odor as well. Baking soda also helps neutralize the acid in the urine that causes the smell. Good luck!

Dont know any home remedies but any pet store will stock a product called "Nature's Miracle". It uses enzymes to kill the bacteria and the odor. It costs about $11 bucks but works better than anything I've tried. Good Luck! Couches are expensive to replace!

I don't care what anyone tells you, you will NEVER get it out. Never ever. The cushions are too dense and thick for ANYTHING to penetrate it and get to the pee. Cat pee is hard to get out of anything anyway. You think the smell is gone, and then it is right back!!!

You may want to try using white vinegar. Good luck.
