Early this year I rescued 3 kittens (sisters), and now they are all 8 months old and all have been fixed. They all behave very well as kittens. However, one of them would only use the litter box for peeing, and she would only poop next to the box. I tried a lot of things with her, like getting her own box, a bigger box, or giving her more privacy... I catch her when she is about to go outside the box and tell her no and put her in the box right away. Still, she would still only go right next to the box when I am not watching. What do I do??

I have a cat that did the same thing. I ask a friend and was told..... give the cat 2 litter boxes. one to pee in and one to poop in. It worked great. She never pooped on anything else again. (as long as the litter was kept very clean)

i would retrain her. put her in a cage with food, water, and a litter box. she might stop then because CATS LIKE TO STAY CLEAN SHE WONT POOP IN HER LIVING SPACE.
srry for the caps.

My cats are the opposite. They won't go to the bathroom outside at all. They'll go into the house and use their litterbox.
