My cat Gigi is about 3 years old. She hasn't been eating anything for a few days. She won't even eat canned food or treats. I thought it would pass at first, but I started to notice she is getting very thin. I plan on taking her to the vet tomorrow, but I really want to know what is going on right now.

The stray cat I am looking after and intend to get spayed looks pregnant but I am not sure. Her stomach looks a little swollen but again I am not sure. I can clearly see her nipples. But she has 3-month old kittens and until about 6 weeks before she was lactating. She has been leaving her kittens regularly, so I thought if she is still trying to mate, she may not be pregnant yet.

If she is pregnant, how risky is it to get her spayed? I do not want to take the risk of putting her through the surgery if it may lead to serious/fatal complications.

She's pregnant and always licks my obese friend's glass of Slimfast (vanilla). If I give her some, she finishes it quick. This is dangerous for the cat?

I took my cat to the vet yesterday to get him booster shots to prevent a disease that house cats can get. A few hours later Jerry, my cat, wouldn't let my pick him up, kisshim or pet him. Then he started hiding from me! It really ade me very upset because Jerry is the type of cat whois really attached to one special owner and that would be me. He always rubs up against me, sleeps beside me avery night and now he hides away under my parents bed resting and sleeping. He doesn't want to come out to go to the bathroom, eat, or drink. He does let me kiss and pet him now from under the bed though. Is this normal? Is this just a way of addjusting to his booster shots ad how long will this last. My other cat angel lso got booster shots but she din't start acting this way! PLEASE! If you've had this experience before, or if your a vet, PLEASE answer this question! What can I do to help my poor cat!???? Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Hi... I have 3 cats and I use a big storage bin as my litter box. It messures 21"x15" and is 9" deep. The problem I have is when they jump out of the box, litter follows and goes all over the floor. I put a carpet in front of the box but the litter shows and looks terrible. Right now I just sweep the area 20 times a day. I cannot have one of those covered boxes as 2 of my cats are too big for them. Any suggestions?

THANKS!!

I have three adult female cats names Spaz, Cougar and Trix. Spaz had recently gave birth to one lonely kitten after coming incontact with the neighbors male cat. We have descided to keep her only kitten, as it is just too upseting to seperate them. We are having difficulties are tryilng to name the kitten and was wondering it anyone else could think of a cool name for her. She is a five week old female that is black and grey tabby. Her body is black and has the grey stipe markings throughout the fur.with white paws. Can you think of a cool name for her? Nothing whimpy please!

Is this normal? I haven't had a chance to de-flee the house yet, I'll start now though. Is this the reason why they still have them?

Hey everyone,

I have 2 cats who have been indoor cats since they were born, I always lived in a building so that wasn't a problem, they're 7 years old and it's been two years since I've moved to a house with a garden, they would do anything to go out, so at first I felt sorry and let them go and I'd sit with them until it became like a habit, if they didn't go out they wouldn't stop meaw'ing (they never meaw for anything!)
So now since they've come home with lots and lots of different insects on them I bathed them, applied the appropriate medication and have not let them out since then. But just looking at them looking out the window breaks my heart.
What should I do? Is it wrong from keeping them from their natural environment? Is it not wrong because I'm protecting them from potential danger to their life? I don't know what to do! Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hihi, I live in Ireland and we live right next to a river/stream but there are rats and mice which sometimes work their way into our yard.

We have a wee Fox Terrier, but she doesn't seem bothered by the intruders, simply stares in awe(hehe)

So we were thinking we should get a cat to chase these visitors away. We rescued our dog from an old man whose sole purpose in life is to rehome abandoned animals, so we want to get a kitty from him. Seeing as he can't give us a specific breed, do you even know what traits and characteristics to look out for?

My female cat is in heat, and about 5 days ago she got out of the house for 4 days. She has never been an affectionate cat, but since she has come back she has become more and more agressive towards the other animals and people in the house. Earlier today her bottom lip became swollen. I'm afraid she might be rabid or something, should I keep her in lock up untill I can take her to the vet on monday? PLEASE help I love her and do not want to treat her unfairly, if she is rabid, would she already be showing symptoms, or do female cats become agressive when pregnant?

Please help, my 7 year old cat willow is very lazy & I do mean lazy. Since we moved to our new house all she does is eat and sleep on the stairs, only moves if we put her outside ourselves or if she using the litter tray.
She has doubled in weight & I am very worried her hear will give up on her. I have cut her food down to dry biscuits only now and only a small cupful each day.

Anyone got any advice for me on how i can get her moving again and to lose the weight????

I got a kitten from somewhere , I dont think the kitten had any medical treatment. I was wondering do kittens need some injections or other treatments , and do these treatments make them 'clean' and germ free so they can be hugged and kissed??

What treatment typically a kitten should get ???
( Yes I am going to the vet in a few days but i just wanted to get some opinions here )

Okay, recently, we discovered a stray kitten, pretty young, most likely at least 10-12 weeks since he's obviously weaned and on his own without a problem. My family is taking him in, and so far we've fed him and kept him outside until we could buy him a bed, a toy or two, and some flea products. I want him to be an indoor cat, not outside, to lessen the threat of fleas.

I was disappointed to find that my mother had shopped without me, so she had purchased a Hartz flea collar and Sergeants flea spray. After looking around and researching, it seems that not only are flea collars not good and worthless, but Hartz is a horrible product. I don't want to lose my first kitten, but neither do I want fleas. He can't come in until he's flea free, and I was wondering about anyone's advice concerning de-fleaing a new kitty.

I have bought a flea comb, a grooming brush, (I only want to use the flea spray now, not the collar) cat wipes to bathe him, etc. Is this enough to rid him of fleas? Help!
