As your parents to call the vet and detail the behavior you're seeing, just so the vet is aware. It's probably nothing that needs a return visit to the vet, but let the vet be the one to decide.
My cats sometimes get a bit "down" after vaccinations. It's like people vaccinations - they can make you feel crummy for a couple days. And when cats feel icky or stressed, they naturally want to "cave," or hide away someplace private. If your parents' bedroom is n OK place for him to be, just go ahead and put a little of his favorite treat food (preferably a wet cat food - he needs hydration) and a bowl of water near where he's hiding. Put his litter box in the same room, and close the door so he has it nice and quiet. Check in every few hours, just long enough to make sure he's OK, that he's responding to you when you talk to him, that he's not showing signs of distress. Then just let him be for another day or two. Once he's rested and feeling better, he'll come out and be back to his normal, friendly self.
You do want to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't have a bad reaction, but I think the chance that he'd have a really bad reaction would be lower after the first 24 hours. He's probably just recovering and needs time.
Also, make sure that next time you see the vet, you remind him how the cat reacted to the shots. I had one who as she got older didn't react well to the annual shots. Since she was indoor-only, the vet was able to provide me with a letter saying she didn't need rabies or FLV vaccinations, and we didn't do shots anymore.
He'll be fine.

I would say Jerry is expressing some stress over the situation. Perhaps he found it to be a bit traumatizing. My cat Tiggur is like that after a vet visit - he hides because he's afraid I'm going to pick him up and take him back there again.
If he is still acting this way in a few days - then I would be worried. You might just put a call in to your vet anyway. Leave a message for him and explain what Jerry is doing. See if he can call you back with any comfort or advice.

Well, if it was an allergic reaction the cat would've had some serious problems by now.
It sounds to me as though the shot was given incorrectly, and may have hit bone or caused a lump that is tender.
If he lets you handle him check for bump and put ice on it (bag of frozen veggies or something).
Some cats just feel weird when the stuff gets in thier system.
He may sleep alot for 2-3 days, don't worry.
On RARE occassions the needle hits the center of a cell in a nerve and can cause temporary paralysis.
This happened to my cat Chili, when she was a baby. I had to carry her to & from cat box. It went away in a few hours.
Chili also got really weird after her shots, so I know what you mean.
Just wait it out.
The hiding's because he doesn't feel good.
Don't take it personal.

Hello, sorry to hear about this. Sometimes they can act just like children, and they don't forget very much either. Just give him a little time, because he may be thinking that if he get's caught he might be going back to that same horrible place. If it lasts too long for you as in days without him eating etc. then that could mean there is something wrong, there could be a bad reaction from the shots. Just like people it could be a allergy reaction. Just pay attention to what he does for the next few days. Hope this helps :)

He's probably feeling a little punky from the vaccinations he got yesterday. Some cats do run a little fever and act like they're stiff and sore for a day or two after the get their shots.
You don't need to do anything for the kitty. He'll perk up on his own, probably by tomorrow. He should be back to normal, eating and drinking and using his litter box by then. If he isn't, give your vet a call. He can give the cat some medication to make him feel better.
Since he's probably sore and achy, don't insist on picking him up or petting him till he feels better.

Cats will sulk sometimes after the vet, depending on their personality, however this seems extreme. He may have been allergic to an ingredient in the vaccination, I would recommend calling the vet and getting his opinion right away.

He may just be mad at you, but I would call the vet and explain how he's acting, in case he's having a bad reaction to the shot.
If the vet thinks he's okay, you'll just have to be patient until he decides to forgive you. Cats get really disgruntled over trips to the vet. Spend extra time and treats on him, and he'll probably forgive you quicker.
Keep apologizing, too, and explain why you had to do it, that it's to keep him healthy. Don't let them fool you, I know my cats understand every word we say!

You took him to the vet and let those mean people poke him with pins!! You aren't to be trusted, as any sensible cat can plainly see. : ) Give Jerry a little time and he'll forgive you and come out from under the bed. Especially if you sit on the floor and play with toys or shake his treats.

He is probably just stressed from the trip to the vet and the shots. I am sure he is terrified right now. Give him a few days to calm down.
If he is still acting this way after that, take him back to the vet ASAP. They deal with this sort of thing all the time, so if you explain it... they will be able to help.

I think cats remember thing for a short time after the event. Give it a few days and if your cat is still doing this call your vet.
