Doesn't ANYONE read the labels on their cat food containers? Purina One has "poultry by-products" as the first ingredient. That's leftovers from chicken (heads, necks, entrails, feet, etc) that is treated with chemicals and labeled "unfit for human consumption". That information is NOT on the bag. The next two ingredients are corn and brewer's rice. So the "food" is 50% more grains than it is meat and not wholesome meat at that.

Iam's has exactly the same ingredients and is 75 cents more a bag than Iams.

You can get Natural Balance for less than Purina. It has 50% in wholesome meat. CA Natural is 10 cents less than Iams and is 50% wholesome chicken.

I have a unique situation and have to rely on RX foods for my cats. One is a diabetic and is on DM, by Purina, and the other was overweight and is on DW, by Hills's. If your cats are healthy then Purina One is a good choice, but your vet will have the expert opinion of what food is the BEST.

We too have been using Purina One as the only food our cat liked.

But recently we got a sample of Purina Naturals. Our cat absolutely loved it, and it is healthier than the regular food

Give it a try !!

Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's Soul has some of the best quality ingredients in a reasonably priced cat food. We have been using it for six months now after switching from Science Diet. Our cats fur got noticeably softer right away.

The following link is an article from About.com on the top 10 rated dry cat foods and it tells you the reasons for the rankings. I learned so much from this article. Not all the foods on the list are available in my area but 'Chicken Soup' is and that is why I buy it. Plus it is reasonably priced.

Purina One is what we always use, they don't like anything else. If you're getting great results with that, don't change.

My cat eats IAMS, as it was recommended when I first had her as a kitten, when I asked the vet. I have never had any problems with the food and my cat appears to love every mouthful :)

I use blue buffalo spa select. It is the only food my cat isn't allergic to, and it is made with human grade ingredients, and no by products
