We recently got a female kitten- she's around 2 months old. She insists on "nursing" from our male 2 year old cat. The strange thing is that the male seems to like it, even bathing her like a mother cat would do. Has anyone else seen this or have any advice?

I recently just moved with my 2 cats to a new house. Before we moved they were indoor/outdoor cats, but now I have to keep them in the house for a month so they can get used to the new place. Is it normal for them to cry/meow all night. We have only been at our new house for 2 days and I am sure they are just mad and want to go outside.

Yesterday I took my cat to the vet after finding out she had breathing problems, she has having heart failure. Vet collected some fulid from around her heart and said the cause was a tumor. We could reduce the fluid giving her some more time, but we don't know what else the cancer would do to her, or how long? So we put her down. She was meant to just close her eyes and drift off. She didn't! seconds after she was given the injection she jumped backwards trying to escape, the look of sheer horror, shock, fear and pain were in her eyes as she looked directly at me for 30 - 45 seconds before finally dying. This is hauting me, she was a real fighter and I feel I let her down - I wish I could go back and do all last week again. Why did she not go peacefully? I am so sorry. Full of guilt and Regret. Sorry China - I was trying to do the right thing.

I bought two kittens from a friend who is also a breeder of Siamese cats. I ended up taking two because the living conditions of the cattery were horrible. The kittens ended up getting sick and I took them to the vet. You guessed it they have FELINE VIRAL RHINOTRACHEITIS. The kittens were not up todate on the needles as she suggested. Because they went too long from their first to their second needed they will require a third needle to boost their immunity. I paid $350 for these two purebred Siamese kittens. One is Blue Point and one is Seal Point. Because I bought the kittens with the understanding they were healthy and now my vet bills are going to be much higher than I originally thought should I ask for all or part of my money back. I cant' take them back because the kittens were living and sleeping in their litter box. My heart goes out to these two little girls. Any suggestions on what I should do or how I should approach this delicate issue.
Thanks.

Why is the issue of declawing a cat such a big problem? It is done under general anesthesia! It is no more painful then having a cat spayed or neutered. All cats should be indoors anyway, unless they're confined someway. Cats have no more business running loose the letting a dog run loose. What is the problem here?

Another quick question. Is it good to give the cat wet food? I feel like dry food is so bland. The adoption Cat Lady told us dry food is good for their teeth but if we do give wet food only do it for breakfast and dinner and thats it. Curious what people think about wet food. My fiance's cat had some reaction to wet food 20 yrs ago so she's afraid now. Is a reaction common? Just curious..

A few days ago i found a black and white kitten outside meowing its head off at night. So i caught him and decided to keep him, but i just noticed today that he had a strange bump on the right side of his head.

It started to worry me and i not sure if it somethinf i should be afraid of. I CANT take him to the vet because i would have enough to pay if he even had a tumor.

So im kindda screwed here TT __ TT

Got any ideas? please...?

ive lost my kitten. ive been searching all day for her and cant find her any where. I brought her home from a farm as she was in a very bad condition and cleaned her up. She stayed inside the house with me then moved downstairs to another room. i was suppose to take her to be vaccinated and microchipped today. i was cleaning her room today and put her out. moments later she ran into the shed which was open. after tidying up i tried getting her out but she ran straight past me and out in to the garden. i didnt even see which direction she went!! ive been speaking to the neighbours and have left food out on her own. just hope she comes back im so worried as shes still very young and has never been out. any advice on what i can do please????? thank u ! aminah

I just tried a new vet, and I am not sure if he is trying to add in a bunch of extra tests. He was fairly certain that my cat has anxiety before he ever met him, then I found out that in order to test for a uninary tract infection he wanted me to pay for an ultrasound to find my cats bladder, a bacterial test and an entire wellness test in order to make sure every organ in his entire body is functioning properly. Is this normal/necessary?

My cat and I love each other - ( BTW I am male , my cat is female) ... we sleep together, she sleeps on top of me and sometimes on the side and we hold hands when we sleep ( my hand her paw)...
But lately we are having fights ... It angers me when my cat does not respond to my calls , also when my cat tries to cheat me .(pretending she has to go to bathroom , instead she wants to go outside to play etc ).. how can we reduce our fights ??
( I guess I am more used to dogs and more used to more obedient pets - this is my first cat)

He has no signs of being sick. His litter is fresh & clean. He has food. He isn't bored, there are other cats & toys to play with.

But he will not stop crying. It's almost constant. He just walks around crying, 7am is the worse because he comes in our room crying, again, for no known reason.

He doesn't seem to want to go outside, he's been indoors his whole life & shows no interest in going out. Even if he did, we are surrounded by large dogs in the neighborhood so I'd have to worry about what would happen to him.

But I'm seriously just my wits end. I love my cats, but I can't find him just walking around, crying, at all hours. Anyone else have a crying cat? If so, any tips? Could he be sick? I hate the idea of going to the vet, spending $500 in test, then being told nothing is wrong.

I'm open to any suggestions, ideas, or expierences. Thanks.

I purchased two kittens aged 9 weeks 2 days ago and they seem to be developing cat flu. They were very lively and playful even though their eyes were watery and they were a bit sneezy. They are eating and drinking well but today I took them to the vet and she said as long as they eat and drink plenty they will overcome it on their own. They were wormed and given Frontline. Now they seem very lethargic and sleepy. Could they have licked the frontline off each other? Will that make them ill? What can I do ?

My cat does and I'm not sure if its normal.
First he'll climb onto a person holding a ringing cell phone.
He'll come closer and grab the person's hand or arm with his two paws.
He then scratches or bites hard and clings onto the arm or hand.

He's a persian cat and very affectionate, but he acts differently when he hears ringtones.

Is this usual?

Hopefully this wont be a long question. Was just curious though. Me and my fiance just adopted a 1yr 8mth old Black cat exactly 2 weeks ago. The first couple days he was really skiddish which is we totally understood. As time went on he's much calmer and loves to be around us. One thing we noticed though was that at night he would come into the room meowing, soft, trying to get our attention. At first it was pretty early but then he kinda stopped and he would only do it bascially when i was about to get up for work. There were actually 2 nights he didnt meow at all. I know he's only been here 2 weeks and i know cats are nocturnal but do you think he's trying to tell us something? We also noticed that he seems to lick himself and nibble himself alot lately..like he's getting bit. We thought maybe he was crying because of that but once i got up for work my fiance said he wouldnt cry again. So if it was something bothering him then he would continue to do it and not just at night. anyone?

I have a cat that has very fine hair. It grows patches that form solid masses on its back. I have to take a shears and clip the solid masses off. The matted hair is almost like a sponge made of hair wheh clipped off. They are about 2 inches in lengthe and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. How can I prevent this from happening?

Ok so Ive reseached about the breed alot. But I'd like to hear more from actual breed owners.I mostly want to know there personalities, life span, and I also hear they get close to one person.I know it sounds kind of selfish lol but, how can I make sure that, that person is me and not my roommate?I only ask because I plan on moving out close to next year and I would hate for the cat to get closer to my roomate and then be grieving when we move out.And anything else anyone thinks I should know would be very helpful :) Thank you all soooo much!!

I have a ten year old tuxedo North American Short hair. He is about 15-20 lbs. We feed him a very little bit twice a day. He vomits up all his food undigested just about everyday. Then he eats the vomit. Also there have been a couple of instances where we have heard him screaming in while using the litter pan. What should I do?

We just got this kitten, it's about 10 weeks old but it very bad, and it always gets the older cats very angry, the older cat isn't its mother or anything, and the older cat isn't playful.
And he always trys to run away.
Is there any way to tell the cat whos boss, and to teach him what he can and cannot do physically without hurting the cat.
I don't think spraying it with water is enough.
