I recently found a worm on my cat. So I told my mom, and she went out and bought some expensive cat dewormer. But... ..I was looking online and I think my cat has tapeworms, not roundworms and thats what the dewormer is for. Would it still kill them off by any chance??

Also I have 2 kids, what should I do to keep my kids safe and not get them?

I have three beautiful cats, the smallest one is always hissing on the other cats for no reason, sometimes I punish her by locking her in the closet for a while, but I feel very guilty after, can anyone tell me what to do?

I really want to get a cat, but I am worried becuase my neighbors have cats that walk around in our garden (and fight sometimes with other cats in the area). I don't want the cat to stay in the house the entire time, either, for several reasons.

and will she get cramps like human females do or what? (I have a 3 month old kitten....she's my baby, and I would like to know about this, as I do not know ANYTHING when it comes to cats and their cycles...) and how often will she have it? I mean, is it every month like humans or what? (she's inside all of the time and we have no other animals, so I am really debating on wether to get her "fixed" or not) Thanks in Advance.

I just recently got a kitten, and it's recently been curious and running all over the place, making fights with whatever it comes in contact with.
When I'm with it though, it's calm and subtle... except sometimes it will even try to attack me!
I think it's playful, but how can I tell whether it intends to hurt me, or is just practicing for when It's full grown?

Disclaimer... I have NOT consulted a vet about this yet and would NEVER EVER seriously consider doing this until I have done extensive research by myself AND with a veterinarian.

That being said... I just adopted a kitten from the pet shelter. She is a beautiful little medium haired tabby kitten and is the sweetest thing. According to the shelter staff, when she was born her umbilical cord was wrapped tightly around her left rear foot and her paw ended up eventually falling off. She walks on her leg on soft surfaces like carpet, but when she walks on hard surfaces she hops to avoid walking on it. It looks like a little peg leg and the bone juts right up to the skin. I have done some research and it looks like amputation to avoid irritation is an option. Has anyone had a kitten that needed it's leg amputated? What is the cost? I know recovery isn't that long, but how did it effect the kitten? Any imput is appreciated! Thanks so much!! BTW... her name is NOT tripod. :)

I'd like to clean out the kitty litter box, but I'm not sure what to use when doing it.. and how the best possible way would be. I'm figuring to use a hose, but what type of product should be used? I know bleach should NOT be used because it mixed with the urine will product harmful chemicals... anyone know?

Also, what's a suggestion for the cats to use in place of a litter box while I am washing /drying their regular one?

Thanks!

They make a sound that sounds like a full grown Bengal tiger. They go "RAH".
It is such a funny sound. Have you ever stepped on a cat's foot and heard it?.. My father used to wear big heavy wingtips and clunk up the stairs sometimes stepping on the cat's tail or foot, and I could always hear "Rah"., it is so funny...

I have a cat who hides everytime my neices and nephews come to visit, or whenever the repairman comes over.... It is so funny... She just automatically hides, knowing she wants no part of it.

well i am up tonight taking care of a kitten my son (20) found with its umbilical cord still attached. He looked for signs of mother or other kittens but found nothing so he brought it home. He takes a bottle, but not easily. takes a while for him to get the hang of it still. I wash him with a warm wet cloth like his mother would and hope for the best. I am going to call the city animal shelter to see if there are any nursing mothers that might take this baby as her own until he is old enough to bring home. Any encouraging words for me? Advice? I have other animals and they are curious about the baby but are not too interested. :)

Getting rid of them is NOT an option since they are all part of our family and dearly loved. But they are ruining my house! Is there a product that I can use on things like woodwork, furniture, etc that keeps them away? Thanks for your help!

My husband and I babysat two kittens for about 2 1/2 days a couple of weeks ago. A few days later, we had broken out with ringworm (the family who owns the kittens also has it, but much worse). We are about 2 weeks in of treating the fungus on us, but I am concerned that it may be all over our couch, where the kittens slept while they were here. Is there some sort of special shampoo or cleaner that I can get to clean my couch with? I can't take anything off of the couch and wash it, so it must be something that I can apply to the couch as is. Thanks!

I have a two month old kitten and he claws everything.I have considered de-clawing but, I have heard that it is painful and it might also change them and make them mean, sad,or moody.I have a sofa that is completely torn up by him.I love him to death and I can't really think of any other options.Do you think de-clawing is an ok thing to do or do you think it is cruel.I was wondering if anyone has any ideas to keep him from clawing everything I own.Thank you very much.Have a good day.

Before I take him to the vet and spend a fortune I was hoping to find something I could do for him at home that may avoid a trip to the vets. Of course if he needs it I will take him so don't give me any comments on neglecting my cat please.
He has had runny eyes for a week and my aunt (who works with a cat care facility) has helped a great bit but no is out of town. He has a cold (resp. infection). I know for a human you rarely have to go to the doc so I was hoping I could do something for him first. He is eating fine and I have been making sure he is drinking plenty but his eyes are runny, his nose is warm and dry, and he has been sneezing and coughing alot. Oh, please does anyone have helpful advice? I would be very appreciative.
