My great pyrenees, Sabrina woofs a hello.
Try shampooing with Dawn soap to drown them and then comb bodies and eggs out with flea comb.
At the store, look at a foamy flea shampoo that comes in a can like men's shaving cream. Since it's topical, MAYBE you could use it.
It's good that you read. Most flea treatments are absorbed into the body and that's why it says to not use them on pregnant female.

Don't use the flea treatments you find in at a store on any dog..pregnant or not!
A quick search found these products. Capstar is a pill and works quickly and the website says safe for pregnant dogs. The other product I found was called "Program". The second link is for an article and the third link is a site to purchase.
But before you purchase any medication, run it by Sabrina's vet just to be sure it is safe.
I don't know of anything that you can use that you have around the home. I've heard people say garlic, but I have also read that garlic is toxic to dogs. In her condition, you need to kill the fleas, but not harm Sabrina or her pups.
The only home remedy I know is to clean, clean, clean her bedding and her areas. Anything that can be put in the washing machine, wash with detergent...doesn't have to be hot water, can be cold water. Vacuum bedding and areas that cannot be machine washed frequently (every other day if possible). Dispose of the vacuum collections after each vacuuming...flea eggs can hatch in the vacuum cleaner.
Get some baby receiving blankets for bedding. I bought a bunch at yard sales and they are so easy to wash and dry and just the right size!
If you decided to bathe her, just use a baby shampoo, rinse her well and make sure she gets dry quickly and not chilled. I used baby shampoo with tiny orphaned flea-infested kittens. I rescued them when they were only about 10-12 days old (eyes not open yet) and bathed them every 2-3 days with baby shampoo until they were about 5 weeks old.
Good Luck and I hope Sabrina has healthy pups!

You could crush up a lot of garlic into a paste, add a little water and rub it all over her. Fleas hate garlic. I'm telling you to rub it on her because this will not harm the pups, If you were to feed it, you would have to feed her a lot to kill the fleas and I'm not sure how it would affect the pups.
You could mix some Apple Cider vinegar with water and spray it on her. Its a cure for most things.
Go to the vet, they usually have stuff for pregnant dogs.
And after she has the pups, GET HER NEUTERED! Do you know how many puppies and dogs get put down every year because people don't bother to neuter their dogs?
Millions, literally millions. Through no fault of their own.
Have homes lined up for the pups BEFORE she has them! Ask around and put up ads NOW! Have more homes lined up than you think you will have pups. Some people will pull out.
Hope this helps!
Good luck!

Considering the SIZE of the dog it just makes more sense to get the fleas off her the old fashioned way.
Get yourself a flea comb, it's got very thin teeth that trap the fleas. Sit down with her and have a big glob of vasoline on a piece of paper next to you. Comb the dog. Every swipe, check the comb for a flea and use your fingers to push the flea into the vasoline where it'll stick and die. Keep combing till you get them all.
Do this every day for a few days and you'll have most of them without having to use any chemical pesticides to get them off her. If the house has a dehumidifier, turn it on, flea eggs dry out in air that's not humid and they won't hatch.
This takes a little bit of effort on your part, but since she's such a small dog, it should be fairly easy to deflea her.

FIRST--change your category--you have this posted under "CATS". However, call your vet and ask if it is alright to give her a bath with the flea soap for dogs. I believe this would be fine. But, using something like Frontline or Advantage on a pregnant doggie could harm the pups because this stuff must works its way through the animals system for it to work. Do only what your vet tells you to do, and best of luck to you.

First I wuold suggest asking your vet for their recommandation. I have used seven dust on my pregnant female. First bath her really well and then dry with a blow dryer and apply seven dust.
If she is and should be a hose pet you need to treat your house. Fleas live in the house and only feed on the dog. if you don't treat the house they will start to feed on the pups once born. general rule of thumb for every flea on the dog there is 100 in the house.
Good Luck

Try bathing her and see if the just fall off... You may also have to put a flea killer in your house but check with your vet to see what products will be safe... I would be really careful about it though.. Maybe leave for a couple days and then do it so that you both aren't exposed to the product..

My wife has found that "Skin-So-Soft" by Avon works really well. Pour it in your hands, then rub your hands all over the dog. The fleas just drop off and die, and it works well for keeping fleas off the dog. Good luck!

Why don't people call their vet when they have these kind of pet problems? They are the best in answering these kinds of questions. Don't use ANYTHING until you call your vet. Do not take the advice of anyone at a pet store.

Call the vet and ask what they would recommend you using under the circumstances. You also might try talking to the folks at PetSmart. Surely there is something you can use that won't hurt her or the babies.
