just dump out all the cat litter. when empty use warm/hot water and soap to scrub it out.
since this whole task shouldn't take but 10 min... just dry it with rags after and put the new litter inside of it.
if your cats don't have the poops they shouldn't mind waiting 10 min for the box to be back.
mine can hold it 10 min lol

Wash the box with warm water and mild soap (I use soap for washing dishes). Rinse really well and dry well. Put in fresh litter 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep.
Kitties should be able to wait until they get the box back to 'go'. You said something interesting, though, that brings up another question. You said "cats".
The recommendation is that you have one litter box per cat plus one extra. Having multiple litter boxes for multiple cats can prevent problems such as inappropriate use of floor.
With more than one litter box, your cats will always have somewhere to 'go' while you are cleaning their box.
Good question - shows you want to do right by your kitties.

when i have to do it, i just use the hose with a pressure attachment. however, i haven't had to do it in a really long time. the best part about the market today is the stuff people come up with. i used the trash bag-like cat pan liners that prevent any mess on the actual box itself. on occasion i will still clean it out, but not often. i actually started using these when i was pregnant (my husband was gone for most of it so i had to do the litter myself) since all i had to do was cinch them and it helped prevent any stuff from getting too airborne (i have since learned you can test your cats for the disease everyone is worried about contracting when you're pregnant). it makes clean up all around a lot easier.

Well I just us regular water and a toilet scrubber, that's all you'll need.
As far as when you are cleaning, if your cats are trained to use the litter box, then they won't use the rest room anywhere else, cleaning shouldn't take too long anyways.

I use lysol spray and then I hose it out really good. When I am cleaning the one I have for my cat I have a second one that the cat uses. I hope this will help.

once you're saying "crap interior the field", do you advise in a muddle tray full of cat muddle? if so (i'm hoping so), it relies upon what style of muddle it extremely is. i take advantage of Sanicat, it extremely is a superb length grained gravel muddle. that's intense high quality and would not produce a great number of airborne dirt and dust. I used to apply the cheap form muddle, which replaced into inconsistent - now and back stable, yet now and back very dusty and advantageous grained. A muddle scoop does the interest - and that i purchase much less costly plastic freezer bags (no, i do no longer positioned it interior the freezer). stable muddle is hassle-free to bathe, it clumps nicely and the "crap" is actual bumped off utilizing the muddle scoop, alongside with somewhat of the muddle from under the project turd, it extremely is then placed interior the freezer bag. From there that's directly to the bin / trashcan. you may't somewhat throw it down the bathroom because of the fact the muddle will assemble interior the bathroom bowl. Chucking it interior the backyard is going to kill your grass / vegetation, and isn't any longer very hygienic. After some days i adjust the muddle and sparkling the muddle tray thoroughly. For this, i take advantage of a comfortable detergent (no phenol) - a floor cleansing fluid works nicely; a scoop to eliminate any soaked gravel that adheres to the muddle tray; and undeniable previous chilly water from the exterior faucet with a hose attachment that can squirt a jet of water at extremely intense rigidity. somewhat paper kitchen towel to dry all of it off, and that i'm executed. Mr. brownies is satisfied and often "christens" the hot muddle with a celebratory pee immediately away. i take advantage of an excellent layer of deodorizing granules on proper of which I throw approximately 3-5cm of muddle. The deodorizers are somewhat worth it as lengthy as you hit upon one that would not worsen your cat. they help to maintain the muddle smelling somewhat greater energizing and make the subsequent muddle replace somewhat much less unsightly. muddle field care is definitely certainly one of the greater unsavoury sides of cat possession, yet as quickly as you get used to it, no longer so undesirable. can't say I savour it nonetheless.

You can clean it with anything that doesnt have ammonia. Ammonia smells like urine to them, and they will try to mark it....but soap and warm water will work great!!
