Your cat could have gotten bitten by another cat. When that happens the leg can get very swollen. But it might take a day or two before the wound is visible. If you see a wound put hydrogen peroxide on it. The cat will want to lick it off so make a 50-50 mix of water and hydrogen peroxide.

It could be an injury from jumping off of something. I would very gently massage the cats leg. A cat can come home limping and in a day or two they are walking normal. I try to look for a reaction when massaging the leg and put gentle pressure on the paw.

If you stubbed your toe would you run to the doctor? Probably not because you are smart enough to know that not everything is an emergency. If you have the big money than you can rush out today and have the Vet look at the cat. But the problem might go away in a couple days. Look the cat over carefully and keep an eye out to see if the condition grows worse.

Take a good look at the paw to see if you can see what is wrong.
Cats sometimes get minor injuries which heal in a day or two. Unless you notice something serious I would wait a day or so.

Are the paws swollen? Is she licking them? Try touching them and looking them over for any obvious injury. If you don't find any obvious source of the pain, you can watch her for awhile. If she starts acting painful at all or if she stops eating, drinking, or starts acting lethargic, I would take her to your vet immediately! If she continues limping throughout the day, I would take her this afternoon. Since tomorrow is Sunday, your vet will charge you an emergency fee to see her! Hope this helps! :)

Is she limping or is she walking on an elbow?
A limp is likely nothing but a strained muscle or ligament.
Walking on the elbow (or top of paw) is serious and needs medical attention.

By the way. How old is she?

cats are not the easiest animals to diagnose, they tend to heal on the outside, while inside a nice infection is stewing away. This means that the injury could have occured a few days ago and your kitty is just now seeing the results. Cat bites and scratches infect easily so if it were my kitty, to the vet she would go. you will both feel better knowing what is wrong. good luck.

I would take her in immediately. Cats are usually very good at hiding injury. If she is actually showing signs of injury, it is pretty serious. If it is after hours, I would go straight to the emergency vet. There are payment plans or CareCredit available.

Check it out yourself, it could be just a splinter or a broken claw stuck in the pad or toe. If it's that simple, you don't want to waste money, but if you can find no flaw, then I would suggest ASAP. Limping is a possible sign of bone cancer, and you can never be too sure.

Check to see that nothing is embedded there. See if there's any swelling, blood or pus. If it's all clear, give it a day and see how she's doing tomorrow and then make a decision as to whether to have a vet check it or not.

Well, I think that you should take your cat to the vet very soon because you don't know if it could get any worst.
