Sounds like he is doing really well. I will just assume that he has been checked for fleas and has the topical Advantage or something like that if it is needed as I'm sure you would not want to live with fleas in your place.
Cats seem to be obsessed with their "alarm clock" mission in life. He may just not want you to be late for work!!!
I don't think you have anything to worry about. Cats lick and nibble to groom - sometimes it can get obsessive and if he doesn't lick himself bald it's OK. If that happens you might have to consider allergies from his food eventually.

Well with any new animal you should take them to the vet. He might have fleas and that might be what he is nibbling at. I would try Front Line or Advantage. He also might have skin issues and only a vet van help thay. I have 2 cats and they cry a lot at night, but that's because I keep them out of our bedroom. Maybe if you are willing to, get him a friend. Just one suggestion with that, make sure you get a kitten. My one cat is older and when I tried to introduce another older cat into the house she hated it. I tried for 3 weeks and they would not get along. I gave the older cat to a friend and adopted a kitten. Within 1 week they were snuggled up together sleeping.

A flea comb will let you know if any of those are on your cat.
Cats act like alarm clocks--they'll get you out of bed on a regular schedule, and yes, they are often up at 3am and stay awake till THEIR heavy sleep time which is around 10am - 2pm when they're out like a light.
It's normal. Better get used to it. Do NOT feed them when you get up--do your shower routine and tooth brushing, whatever, THEN make their food. If you do the food thing first, you'll never get any peace in the morning because if a cat can get you out of bed to do their breakfast, they're going to do their darndest to get an earlier and earlier breakfast and will be yelling at you at 4am for this. Don't let the pattern start with the up-feed the cat-do things routine.

He's just a lonely kitty. Try to leave a light or two on when you go to bed. There is also a plug-in that emets a calming scent for the cats, and it does wonders, believe me.
Here's the info on it:
Comfort Zone With Feliway For Cats & Kittens Plug In With 48ml Bottle
Reduces or completely stops stress-related behavior including: urine marking, vertical scratching, loss of appetite, reduced desire to play or interact and other stress-related behaviors. Helps comfort cats in stressful situations such as: being alone in the house, visitors to the home, new pet or family member, moving to a new home, visits to the veterinarian, adjusting to a new environment, multiple cat households. Feliway mimics a natural comforting facial pheromone produced by cats. Odorless and non-toxic. Does not affect humans or other pets. Includes plug in electrical diffuser and 48ml bottle of Comfort Zone.

I think it's normal, both my kitten meow in the morning. when i first adopt them, they meow early in the morning like 4am, slowly they understand that my alarm is set at 6.30am. Now they only meow around 6 am, and pushing their head to me if I'm not wake up by 6.30 am. They are definitely a better alarm for me, and always make me smile early in the morning :). So, I think for your case, there is nothing to worry, your cat either get bored that's why he meow, or he is hungry (leave the dry food out before you sleep), or it's just cat habit to wake us up before the alarm went off.

Sounds like he's just wanting affection. The licking and nibbling is normal grooming (which is a good sign), although if it's excessive or the cat develops sores you should probably see a vet.
I think he just likes you and wants to make sure you don't forget to say hi to him before you leave.

Cats take awhile to adjust to new surroundings. Licking and nibbling are ways they adjust their fur, so if he is not taking bites out of his fur, I think things are fine. I suspect he is nibbling around his belly.
Hopefully, you will be establishing a relationship with a vet, for care, vaccinations, etc. You can get many more of your questions answered by your vet.
A wonderful way to bond with your cat is to get him used to being brushed or combed.

My cat does the same thing all the time and he is okay. Sometimes they hear things outside and sometimes they meow because they want out. They also just want attention and don't care whether you are asleep or not.

That is a little weird.maybe he is lonely try getting him a friend.and just to be safe I would check for fleas.but lots of cats groom themselves a lot which includes chewing.and maybe he would like to come on the bed if you allow him.He should be normal my cat did that until I let him up in the top part of my bunk bed.(=^.^=)
