Take him to the vet asap. Could be urinary tract blockage. May have fatty liver condition. That weight seems on the heavy side. Giving more frequent yet smaller feedings would be far more healthy (4-6 meals), this is less stress on the digestive system. Also be sure he doesn't have any obstructions to getting clean fresh water (daily fresh) and consider does he prefer moving water to still water or vice versa? May have dehydration with constipation. Start feeding him a portion of wet food each day and cutback on dry food, choose portions that are recommended for his ideal weight. Ask the vet about his weight and feeding amount and schedule.

My cat is 15 years old and had a similar problem. I was feeding him dry cat food; he'd been eating dry cat food his whole life. Anyway, he started throwing up his food several times a week. The vet said that he was having trouble digesting the dry cat food. I switched to canned food and amazingly he was back to his old, healthy self again. What kind of food are you feeding your cat? Call the vet and get some professional advice. Good Luck!

AT first I would have said, change to hairball treatment formula cat food...with the screaming, you need to take your cat to the vet! There are many reasons, health wise that a cat will vomit, add the litter box problem and it could be serious.

It sounds as if he has something pretty serious with the crying while trying to use his litter box. He could be constipated, or have kidney stones. He could have eaten something, like a string that has his stomache twisted, and that would be horriblely painful. Take him to the vet.
If he were just vomitting up his food, I would have told you he probably has a hair ball. That will cause them to not be able to keep thier food down. But with the other, it sounds much more serious.

If you were vomiting up your food and screaming in pain when you tried to use the toilet, wouldn't you want to be taken to a doctor?
Go to the vet immediately. In the future, call the vet when your cat is screaming in pain and can't relieve itself instead of surfing the net.

Take your kitty to the vet asap. Cats should not be vomiting everyday. He might have a blockage in his intestinal track. I give my cats hairball remedy once a week for the hair they ingest while they groom themselves. When I give them hairball med. they usually vomit the next day a big hairball. I also give them cat food(dry) that fights against hairballs.

You have not indicated if the litter box is normal or not, as far as frequency and amount. He could have a blockage of a hairball. Is he overweight? Seems like there are some things you could be discussing with your vet.

GO TO A VET RIGHT AWAY!!! His body might not like that food and maybe that is why he is throwing it up. Get him a different kind. But fist make sure that you go to the vet. They will probably give your cat medicines and a new kind of food.
