A few days ago i found a black and white kitten outside meowing its head off at night. So i caught him and decided to keep him, but i just noticed today that he had a strange bump on the right side of his head.

It started to worry me and i not sure if it somethinf i should be afraid of. I CANT take him to the vet because i would have enough to pay if he even had a tumor.

So im kindda screwed here TT __ TT

Got any ideas? please...?

we cannot diagnose anything over the computer. YOu need to have the kitten checked out by a vet. If you cannot afford a vet then you cannot afford a kitten, take it to the shelter so someone who can afford it can adopt it

I doubt it would be a tumor, those are usually inside.

A lump on the outside is almost always one thing--an abscess from a bite or claw wound. It'll get bigger, about the size of a large marble, and he'll scratch it open and it'll drain (it's messy) and it should be kept open till it's healed or it'll just fill up again.

Vets usually give an antibiotic to help the cat heal from this, so you should actually get him in for a checkup. Call around and see what the exam costs are, each vet charges differently. The price of antibiotics for an abscess would be something they can tell you up front as well.

Cats are not free, if you can't afford a checkup, you won't be able to afford food and litter as well. Being a pet owner means having enough set aside for vet emergencies and other things.

Though I am NEITHER a vet NOR a PATHOLOGIST I think that leukemia, or brain cancer are NOT visible to a non-trained doctor probably because they are developed either into the interior of the scull or onto the spine and the back of the neck....MY guess would be that your cat either has a non-malignant tumor or a common bladder ...if it soft and can be pressed(without hurting the kitty) it also possible that it is filled with fat nothing to worry about..my previous cat had one...but it was right under his belly....nevertheless the best way to find-out is to PAY a visit to the vet..I KNOW U WILL COME UP WITH THE MONEY...not so much for curring the kitty (if it is a malignant tumor) as much for putting it out of its misery..MY first cat developed terminal cancer in her final days...we took her to the vet and concluded to proceed to euthanasia but she was in such an agonizing pain that she died before her appointment arrive (3 days after the first visit)..poor kitty..
SO IT IS UP TO U GIRL TO DO WHATEVER THE HELL U WANT I AM ONLY EXPRESSING AN OPINION...I AM IN NO WAY TRYING TO PLAY THE DOCTOR OR SOMETHING ..OKAY????

The cat still needs to go to a vet....to withhold the medical attention would be cruel. Explain your situation to the vet and perhaps they will work something out for you. I'm surprised you said you would keep the cat, yet not take it to a vet. Regardless of the tumor, the kitten needs a check-up with vaccines, spay/neuter, worming...etc. It's still gonna be a heafty bill, but at least the little guy will be healthy. Do the right thing and take him to a vet. Good luck.

Your kitten may have a boil from being bitten by another animal. If you can't take it to the vet here is what you should do. When it comes to a head or opens clean it out with peroxide and let it drain. Apply antibiotic ointment daily until it heals. These boils are sometimes hard to cure as the infection is deep and can spread. Do your best to get him to the Vet.

check all over for lump's all over the body even on his chest bone mostly under his tummy

good luck

i just read the rest of what you wrote. if he's a kitten most likely he doesnt have tumor's it probably got a bug bite. wait a few day's to a week see if it goes away. if after a week then bring it to a vet. they have free clinic's or payment plan's or discount's for people who have financial restriction's.

k by and good luck
