Our 3-month old male kitten, Lenny, is just an absolutely lovable kitten and we cuddle him and he falls asleep on us all the time, and he seems to love us but he doesn't purr. Could it just not occur to him, or could there be an absence of the purr mechanism?

We got these cute kittens. They used to be scared of everything. Yesterday they were running around on and near the road. We live in the country and very close to the main highway. I don't want to add them to our kittie garden, Please help?

What sparks this baffling behavior anyways? Is it boredom? Instinct? Terroritorial behavior? Psychological imbalance? Environment?

What?

I am losing the battle with my cockroaches. They have developed immunity to everything I can throw at them. I know they can't develop immunity to boric acid, but I have heard boric acid & cats do not go together. I have no desire to risk my three cats health... but what if I only put the boric acid inside the cabinets I know the cats never get into? Or even into the drawers in my kitchen? What are the boric acid/cat risks?

My cat, Malikia, just had kittens about a month ago. One of them is very tame, she just was on her own. The other five are wild, one in particular. I know that they can be tamed, but are their any other ways other than bringing them in and playing with them for a while??

We just got a kitten from the pound on 5/31/07. He's 3 months old. He was cleared for everything that day, leukemia, fleas, etc. He got his rabies shot that day also. Since he's been home he's been sneezing and drooling a lot. We figured it may be a cold from being in the Humane Society, so we got antibiotics that we had for our other cats before, and the vet said it was ok to give him. We're just worried because he's not very playful at all and he just sits there and looks at you. He's so cute, just doesn't play much. We have 3 other cats, and they play and sniff at him but he just doesnt want bothered. What could be wrong? Another thing that worries me is that he nibbles at our fingers and noses when he sitting on our chests or pillows - its almost like he's trying to find a nipple - does he need a bottle?

I have a 3 year old male cat, Oliver. He is a big cat and quite aggressive in general. He kept attacking a german shepherd dog I had brought home, he even bites people for fun or for aggression. Anyway, I recently found a female kitten, Penny, in the streets and brought her home. I put her in a separate room for a week. I gradually introduced both cats to each other's smell. Finally, I let them meet. I was worried my cat would attack the little one. Turns out they started "playing", basically Penny chases Oliver's tail, and Oliver slaps her. It looked like they might get along, but Oliver is getting harsher every time they meet. She disturbs him, it is true, by running around him and playing with his tail. But now Oliver grabs her with his mouth and bites her quite hard, until I stop them. He doesn't hiss and Penny keeps going back to play with him, but I am worried that Oliver isn't really playing. From experience, is it possible that things will get worse? Because they get harsher

As much as we love our pets, we allow{apatheticaly} the death or neglect of others. I wonder why this is.

She is 3 years old and more than half a year ago we moved into a new apartement.Since then she was scared to even step out into it.I think it is because of the fans on the ceilings. She loves tuna so we tried putting it out and she still refused to go.We even tried making her to get used to it by getting her out every evening for about one hour and closing the door so she won't escape, but she still doesn't want to go there, yet where I live it is very hot and she is long-haired so she needs to get out from time to time,it is too hot inside!

We have 3 cats and a huge flea problem. I have spent many, many, many dollars going to the vet, over the counter stuff, and high electric and water bills trying to rid our house of these pests. We vaccuum everyday AT LEAST once, most of the time it is 3 times a day. The kids' bedding and mine is done daily and the mattresses vaccuumed. The pillows are put in the dryer for at least 30 minutes. All stuffed animals have been placed in bags out in the garage for almost a month now. We still have the problem. Once cat is even losing hair and has sores from the fleas. Yes, he has been to the vet many times. All three cats have been to the vet many times and like I mentioned many of dollars spent. I am sick of spending the money and NOTHING working, plus the high utility bills are getting outragous with the summer here and the AC on now. Please if anyone knows of anything else please HELP!!!!

I found her on the street just tonight and she's still so small that she can fit in my hands. I've been reading up on kittens and I'm very worried. I have no idea how old she is. I've never cared for any kitten or cat before.

Her eyes are still closed but she has teeth. I thought they weren't supposed to get those until three weeks. But eyes are supposed to open by 7-10 days. Is something wrong? She can also walk pretty decently. She doesn't crawl at all. Also, what are some other tips to keep her healthy?

My 8 month old kitten seems so skinny and I'm just wondering if it's cause for concern. She's unspayed and very active. I have 2 other cats but each has their own bowl so there is no fighting for a bowl. She has a healthy appetite and we've been feeding her some canned food along with the dried food. No ribs are showing. She just seems so lanky! I'm hoping it's just her growing.
