"I have an older cat, she's about 14, and she has never displayed any signs of sickness until about a week ago. I noticed that she seemed really thin. She was too weak to stand up and had mucus running from her eyes. I rushed her to the vet who pumped her with fluids and put her on an antibiotic. He said she would get her appetite back in no time, but she hasn't! I have been giving her her medicine every day, and I even bought this special high in calorie can food to give to her. She licks at it for a minute or two and then just walks away and lays down for hours at a time. I don't know what to do? I did however notice that she makes a weird grinding sound when she eats, I am wondering if there is something wrong with her mouth making it too painful to eat?" This is just about exact to my situation. The vet focused on kidneys due to prior situation, but all tests are normal. When she does eat, we have a house full of kitty vomit. I have her on an I.V. every 2 days, but no good.

I have two cats. Both female. I noticed about six months ago the older one, whos two was liking off her fur. Brought her to the vet and she was given a cortisone shot. (She's been back for two more since the firt shot). Well, she hasn't stopped and it's ony gotten worse. I bombed our house, and applised frontline. She still does it. Now, noticed the other cat has bald patches. She jusy turned one. My cats get along with each other. They are from seperate litters, but the older one has always treted the other one as her "baby." What can be the cause of the problem. They are going back to the vet, yet again this week, but it seems like everything that I do does not work. Please help!

For 2 months now I have been feeding and taking care of a very cute cat that started coming up to my door, she would rub my legs and ask me for food so sweetly i couldnt resist her.I named her and she knows her name and comes when Ic all,but she isnt tamed shes a feral cat and is part of a colony of homeless cats that live in my apartment dumpster area.Recently some of the meaner and older homeless cats have discovered the food I give her and they have loud fights in front of my door.I cant afford to feed all the cats and I have allergies as well.I know i should not have started feeding the one cat in the first place. Now how do I get rid of these cats sometimes they try running in my apartment when i open the door,i dont want them to scratch or bite me,or carry any germs to me as i also have immune probs. If i stop feeding her is that cruelty?I feel so guilty but I do not know what else to do,im disabled with a back injury as well so I cant do much else????

My cat is a 13-year old calico. About a month ago I noticed a small spot on her head with no hair (between her ears), and now it has grown to a lump, about the size of a large pea. It looks blue/gray in appearance, and also looks full of fluid. At first I thought it was a wart, but now I am doubting that. There are what appears to be vains located inside the lump. She doesn't act like it's hurting her. Oh and on the side of the lump there is a small, crusty, black line. What could this lump be?

is female, black and white but super malnutricioned.
All have now been fed and general checkups done and are fine but need TLC.
Baths and de flea- ed are tomorows schedual.
The other 3 will go to new homes but the one with many toes will probley stay here or go to a special home, so I need a name. Any ideas?
She has large ears and 7 toes on each foot (white feet), is black and white. Very Unique looking. (it almost looks as though she were part of a twin and got the extra feet but smaller attached.)

My mother has a barn cat that had kittens. She brought all the kittens to her front porch but then about 3 days later brought another kitten...this kitten shakes when it walks. It appears to be ok but has this weird shaking thing going on when it creeps around on the porch.
Is this something normal or should we take the kitten to the vet?
The kittens just opened their eyes about 2 days ago so I'm guessing they're about 2 weeks old.

My cat hates wearing a collar. She is mostly an indoor cat, but she wants to go outside and I do not want her going out without any id. (she is not microchipped as I will be moving when college starts, and do not believe in putting computer parts into humans or animals) She has been fixed, so pregnancy is not a problem. She comes when called. I live on a lot of land, over 100 acres, where there are wild animals and high traffic and I am worried that she will be eaten by bigger animals or run over by a car.
This isn't just a cat to me, she is my baby and she is irreplaceable. How do I get her to wear a collar/leash or where could I find a kitty harness, something that is comfortable for her that she will not try and bite off? Can she be trained to wear it? Cassidy is a 2 yr old Tabby/Bengal mix, if that helps.

I have a cat that sneezes a lot and her "boogers" stick to the floor and dry rock hard! I would clean it up ASAP, but I'm at work most of the day. How do I clean it up? Any suggestions?

for example if he/she was being attacked by a bear, wolf, dog, and say that you had to kill it to save your cat but you wree in the middle of nowhere hiking and you didn't have a single weapon. would you let the cat die or not. now me i am not so sure i would do this.

My cat Gable is 12 years old. He goes to the vet on a regular basis and is caught up on all of his shots and whatnot. Other than an ear infection that he is presently being treated for, he is relatively healthy for his age. (HIs last visit to the vet was a week ago.)

However, he is skin and bones. The vet has suggested a high protein diet and switching from his regular food (Kit n Kaboodle) to a brand name kitten formula as well as supplementing with canned food. I've done all of that, but Gable just doesn't have much of an appetite....even before the ear infection he was losing weight.

I know he is OLD. But I was wondering if anyone here had any ideas on what Gable might like that could help put a little weight on him but not be hard on his system. I've tried yogurt and he liked it, but he only ate about a teaspoon.

Thanks for any advice. I've had him since he was a kitten and he's FAMILY. I'd like to keep him around as long as possible.

My cat is skinny and won't gain weight so I changed his food 4 weeks ago from "no name" to "Whiskas" and he still hasn't gained weight. I fill his bowl all the way to the top and it takes him a few days to eat it. Its about 5 or 6 cups of food.

I don't give him canned or wet food...could this be the problem? I can feel his leg bones alot and his spine...what should I do, I don't have money for the vet it is crazy!?

I hate my neighbors because they don't take good care of their cat. I give it food when they let it out of the house but when it goes back sometimes they keep it locked up in there for a week! I want to cat nap it but I can't do it when they are there. Any suggestions?

the people next door took their dog when they left, but abandoned a loveable cat. we are thinking of taking him to the vet to have him checked out and neutered. if feline leuk negative and fip negative we are talking about bringing him indoors. how would we introduce him to our 4 1/2 year old feamle (she is spayed and front declawed) that has been here with us since march 21,2007?
