I've had it done as young as 8 weeks/ 2#. Price can vary. If cost is a consideration look for a low cost spay/neuter clinic.

I've heard of it done at 8-10 weeks, but should be done no later than six months. Having to deal with a cat in heat is no fun. If she gets caught by a tom, then you have the litter of kittens to consider.
When I had my female spayed a few years ago, it was about $80. I know my county has a low or no cost program called the Neuter Commuter. Check with your local animal control and see if they have a similiar program in place.
Also, through our local Humane Society, we can buy a certificate from them ($40) to take to a particiapating vet who will spay (or neuter) the cat at no additional charge. Though you may have to pay to have the vaccines brought up to date.
It's a lot less expensive to be a responsible pet owner and your pet will live a longer & healthier life.

around 4-6 months and it should be less then 200 for a girl, 150 for a boy (at most)

My daughter just got her a kitten from the animal shelter, they told her 4 months. & its cost will be 50 dollars.
