It won't hurt him, as long as his main diet is cat food as it has specific nutrients he needs that dog food doesn't have. If he's overweight, you might need to limit his food intake overall.

I am sorry, I strogly disagree with the other people. It's not ok. Cat's stomachs are not as strong as dogs. It's ok for a dog to eat cat food but not the other way around as the foods are made differently.
Here's another thing. Cats are acrnivores and many have trouble processing carbs amoung other things. With the rise in the use of dry food has come the rise in kidney disease as well as diabetes in cats besides a host of other problems. I strongly recommend you feed canned foods w/o gravy

Yes I agree with KimbeeJ.........if he is overweight then you have to move the dog food somewhere the cat doesn't go, like if your cat doesn't like your dogs, then put the food in the dog's room. Somehow prevent your cat from getting to the food.

Just limit the amount of food he eats. it'll help him alot. Try and keep the dogs food away from the cat's food. He'll be fine, and limit the treats he has also!

My older female is always stealing the dog's food. She has been doing it for years and is still OK, so I wouldn't worry.

I've heard of a lot of cats that do this, and they are completely fine, so I wouldn't worry.
