My cat is a 13-year old calico. About a month ago I noticed a small spot on her head with no hair (between her ears), and now it has grown to a lump, about the size of a large pea. It looks blue/gray in appearance, and also looks full of fluid. At first I thought it was a wart, but now I am doubting that. There are what appears to be vains located inside the lump. She doesn't act like it's hurting her. Oh and on the side of the lump there is a small, crusty, black line. What could this lump be?

Our cat Jester had this problem, it is a kind of growth. It fills with fluid, and you can take it to a vet to get it surgically removed. You don't just want to leave it, our vet said if we hadn't removed it from Jester, it couldn've caused serious problems for him, his was above his eye, and it grew slow large his eye started to close up. I would advise that you take her to the vet, because this can be a bad problem.

Sorry if it seems like i'm taking this out on you, but why do so many people who have these problems with their animals insist on asking questions on yahoo rather than taking their poor sick animal to the vet where a professional can give you advice and help your pet.. Instead you tell people who may or may not care about your pets problem who are not professionals and all the while your pet is suffering!! GO TO THE VET! IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD IT, DONT GET A PET TO CARE FOR!!

If she`s an outside cat, she may have a warble, its a fly that lays it eggs on the ground, then the egg turns into a worm. if an animal lays were the eggs is, it gets in the cat skin, feeding off the cat. When the worm gets grown, it comes out, it makes a lump & works its way out. It makes a hole, & flesh is showing where the worm came out. and it really painful on the anamial. It will kill a kitten sometimes.

It could just be a benign cyst, but your vet could tell for sure. Any lumps or bumps in cats should be checked out. They have a higher incidence of bumps being a cancer than dogs do, and removing it when it is still small is her best chance.

It sounds like a tumor. It could be cancerous. I would get her to the vet as soon as humanly possible.

She needs to see a vet right away. It's impossible for us to know what it is. Speculation never does any good.I would get her in right away on Monday.

Please, take her to the vet immediately! Without wanting to alarm you, it sounds like it could be potentially serious. Good luck.
Oh and, remember, it's not always obvious when cats are in pain - they can hide it very well.

I'd guess it's a tick or a tumor.
