We recently got a new puppy, he is a lab retriever. I have two cats and one of the cats attacked the puppy on their first meeting. The cats are scared all the time. The puppy wants to play with them and be friends. Will my cats ever get over the fear of the dog?

i have this cat who is about 12 years old. when we brought her to the vet they said she had a liver disease. she use to be 18 pounds and she dropped all they way down to about 9 or 10 pounds. we have been giving her this nutrition liquid and fluids, but everytime we force feed her she vomits. she hasnt eaten in almost a month. i thought for a while that she was getting better because she is walking around unlike before, but is there really much of a chance she will live?

My cat has a cut on his neck/cheek and it smells pretty bad. It is oozing, I think its pus. I can't tell if it is still bleeding or if it is dried blood mixed with pus. I don't know what to do, it seems like he is in pain but I don't want to take him to the vet unless it is an emergency. I put some gauze over it. Will the cut heal by itself? Should i take him to the Vet?

My 4 yr old spayed, indoor tortoiseshell has had mult.UTIs, usually observed by her urinating on my bed or some other place. She ends up on a 2 wk course of clavamox with resolution of the UTI. She's on Hill Science C/D diet exclusively for 6 mo.now. I got new style automatic type litter box, after our old automatic one stopped working & noticed she was not using it. I assumed she didn't like the new one but then I noticed how lethargic she was & also coat was not glossy. Vet started Clavamox, although unable to get a urine sample, but after several days, no improvement. Took her back in and he has had her now for six days, has taken mult. x-rays and urine samples, and now says she has a very unusual/abnl situation in that the neck of her bladder going into the urethra is dilated. He wants to continue to keep her through Tuesday (after Mem. Day), get more urine samples and continue to consult with other vet. What do you think?

my two cats aged 1yrs and 2 yrs have always been house cats until they recently started urinating in the house outside of the litter boxes.Three days ago I decided to start letting them outside since they are both micro chipped and vaccinated.I am worried about them though as they are both just staying by the back door and miawing all day. Am I being cruel in keeping them out during the day and letting them in only in the evening?

Ok so at first i thought it was particular to one of my two cats, We brought her back down with us from Va, to Texas (almost a week long drive with all the stops and breaks) and for the first two or three days she had me worried sick because she would start panting, much like a dog does and i had never seen a cat do that before. I kept trying to give her food and water and comfort her so she could go to sleep but it didnt help too much. by the third day or so she stopped and i brushed it off because she did just fine even way after we got to texas. Well i got a second cat and we travel alot from San Antonio to Laredo, Tx (2hr drive). We decided to take them both down to see my mom, and thats when i realized that my second cat started doing the same panting thing my first cat did. Freaky i thought and again i was worried. but just as cat#1 she got over it and has been doing fine since. Is this normal?? Because i think its weird and i m wondering if perhaps i shouldve told the vet..?

I adopted an 8 week old kitten and found out she has fleas. She's less than 2 lbs so I'm unsure what to use to help get rid of them. With my older cat I'd use capstar + boric acid, but I'm not sure if these would be harmful to the baby.

Also, since she has fleas it's inevitable that my 4 year old will get them as well. Can I give him regular frontline with the baby near by?

Any help would be appreciated.

I've read a lot of the answers on here about hyper cats, but I've done most of that stuff and it's still not helping!! At night, he's fine sometimes. We'll leave a window open so he can sit at the screen; he only does that if it's open though. He sleeps in bed with us sometimes, but other than that he'll jump on the bed and go up around my head and play with my hear and eventually scratch my head. Then once I make him get down, he'll scratch on the sides of the bed. Then he'll scratch under the bed where I can't get him. So I put him outside of our room and close the door. A few hours later, he'll start scratching and meowing. I've read where people say ignore him and don't open the door, but I've tried, and it goes on for a couple hours and I have to get to sleep! So I open it and the whole process starts all over again. I've tried playing with him a lot during the day, but that hasn't seemed to help either. He also attacks my legs like he's playing, but he ONLY does it to me. HELP!

My 18-month-old spayed female cat has always been very aggressive - biting me (but not my husband) and guests. She bites hard and repeatedly. At other times, she can be very sweet aned affectionate. She was never abused, but was taken out of her litter at six weeks. Why is she like this, and how can we change this behavior?

Squeezing themselves into teeny tiny places that are inconvenient? My cat is squashed into an empty shoebox, looking very smug. Why won't she curl up in the furry little pyramid cat house I bought especially for her? She won't even go into that! They always like cheap nasty boxes for some reason. It's madness!

Recently my cat knocked a glass off a table and it broke. Later, when it was playing with me, it play bit me and i noticed there was some small amount of blood coming from its mouth. I guessed this was probably related to the glass breaking, and worried that the cat might have even a peice of glass or something. The cat still acts energetic and all. Is this something I should be very worried about? if the cat did eat some small peice of glass, would it probably just pass it succesfully?
