My cat has a cut on his neck/cheek and it smells pretty bad. It is oozing, I think its pus. I can't tell if it is still bleeding or if it is dried blood mixed with pus. I don't know what to do, it seems like he is in pain but I don't want to take him to the vet unless it is an emergency. I put some gauze over it. Will the cut heal by itself? Should i take him to the Vet?

He got cut last night so it hasn't been long. I am trying to get him into a vets office but most are closed due to memorial day... but there is an emergency clinic that I am trying to get a hold of.

Definitely take him to the vet. It sounds like he needs antibiotics. You don't wanna mess around with this!

Ouch sounds like a possible infection. I would call my vet to see if they would give me an antibiotic. Prior to that I would flush the wound with warm water and apply neosporin right away this way I can call the vet say okay I done this and maybe get the meds without a visit fee. Unless the cut is deep enough to need stitches then sorry it's straight to to vet.

This cut is infected (as evidenced by the pus). The cat NEEDS a vet. You're really risking her health by leaving this, so don't wait any longer. I've seen what happens to cat abscesses that aren't treated and it's hideous. Obviously the cut isn't healing, it's infected. It needs antibiotics.

Why wait until something is an emergency before getting it sorted? You're risking your cat's life my doing this, which is irresponsible - and you're making it more expensive for yourself!

Yes, very bad. Cats need there whiskers for balance, when i was yong I cut all the whiskers of my cat and the cat fell off of tables and chairs. It is very bad, also Your cat will try and go into small holes and get stuck if it's whiskers are to short. You should call the groomers manager and make sure they stop this at once.

It's infected! This isn't going to go away by itself. PLEASE take the kitty to the vet ASAP!
