I've read a lot of the answers on here about hyper cats, but I've done most of that stuff and it's still not helping!! At night, he's fine sometimes. We'll leave a window open so he can sit at the screen; he only does that if it's open though. He sleeps in bed with us sometimes, but other than that he'll jump on the bed and go up around my head and play with my hear and eventually scratch my head. Then once I make him get down, he'll scratch on the sides of the bed. Then he'll scratch under the bed where I can't get him. So I put him outside of our room and close the door. A few hours later, he'll start scratching and meowing. I've read where people say ignore him and don't open the door, but I've tried, and it goes on for a couple hours and I have to get to sleep! So I open it and the whole process starts all over again. I've tried playing with him a lot during the day, but that hasn't seemed to help either. He also attacks my legs like he's playing, but he ONLY does it to me. HELP!

sounds like he needs some exercise.
for a couple of hours before you are going to bed - while youre watching TV or doing whatever around the house, play with him.
get one of those feathers on the end of a stick or some string and play with him for a good couple of hours. you dont have to sit there the whole time... attach the string to your ankle and walk around... pretty simple.
get him a scratchpole with plenty of toys attached.
tire him out - a tired cat is a well behaved cat.
p.s. by opening the door and letting him in you have taught him that crying and scratching will get him what he wants.... live with it, or stop opening the door. try putting him in another room with the door closed, preferably one far away from yours.

I have a few ways that might help!! First way is leave it alone for a while and when it gets worn out, start to pet it. It willl eventually get calm. Another thing is to not let it sleep in your room. So you can get some sleep!!!! Put it in a nice quiet place with a nice quiet toy!! Or pt it to sleep!!! Have a fun filled kitty day!!!!! Also bye a cage put in some toys put the cage in a place where you won't hear it!!

My kitty does this too....she attacks our feet whenever we move....she does everything you say your cat does. She is 8 months now and she is calming down some. Mostly we just wake up a lot with her and try and pet her to calm her down. She actually GROWLS at us....she growls at us often when we try and pick her up and she does not want to be picked up. People hear her growl and say, "was that your cat growling?" THEY cannnot believe it. She even did this before she was spayed though so that is not the problem.
She also has a lot of toys to play with so that is not the problem either. Sorry I have no advice for you, but you are not alone....good luck!
Oh yeah and she likes to look out the window too and watch the birds...we got a bird feeder and keep it filled for HER amusement.

Brittany, I'll pass on my doctor's advice to me for a way to "retrain" the bowels without using anything that is habit-forming like laxatives. GLYCERIN SUPPOSITORIES. Insert one each morning and in 10 or 15 minutes the bowel should be stimulated to produce a bowel movement. After a week or two, the bowel should be "retrained" so that you should be able to go on your own. One other thought would be to ask your doctor to order a Transit Study (Sitz Marker Test) for you. It will isolate your constipation problem to either the colon or the rectal/anal area. Once that is determined a more focused treatment plan can be determined. Good luck to you and hope this info is helpful.

Sounds like he is a fun pet. Also sounds like he has a playful personality and just wants to be with you. Cat's are more nocturnal so they tend to sleep during the day and be up all night. One thing that may help would be to get a second cat as a playmate for your first which may distract him.

Sounds like he was taken from his mother to early. You have become his mother. Sorry to say but cats play around more at night. You need to be firm and let him know what he is doing is not eacceptable and repitation is the key

your cat is definitely bored bored bored.
cats need to be played with.
they need toys to stimulate them.
our cat was the same meowing at our doors now we leave them open and he just falls asleep at the end on our beds.
we also got him neutered which calmed him down.
remember to give him lots of attention and play with him otherwise hell never be tired enough to go to sleep

This might help. Get a squirt gun and give him a squirt whenever he does something you don't like. Its not punishment coming directly from you so he won't blame it on you but if he gets a squirt every time he does a particular thing, he might quit doing it. If he's a young cat maybe he is just being rambunctious so he might grow out of it. Anyway, good luck!

Wow. Is he neutered? That might help. If not, try catnip. Maybe you can get him stoned.
