I have an 8 month old cat. He sniffs my mother, then starts huffing or panting towards her. She's the only one he does this towards, or at least so far. He's my first cat and I have no clue. He is not nuetered yet, it is scheduled for a week from now. Will this behavior change afterwards? Why's he doing this? Thanks for any help.

Could fleas cause my cat to lose it's hair? She keeps licking her fur and wherever she licks the fur comes out..What is the best treatment for getting rid of fleas? Will fur balls become a problem since she is licking her fur?

My cat is elderly, just to get that out of the way. She's not quite 10 yet, but she's up there in age. Despite being a healthy and active cat, she's always been slightly underweight according to veterinarian standards. Within the last month, she's lost that pep in her step and has experienced significant weightloss. I thought, for a while, that maybe it just hurt to chew her food, so I started giving her moist food. Of course, she ate that right up. However, I found her one morning in my bathroom, lying on her side, breathing very heavily, and basically unresponsive. I took her to the vet, and she was diagnosed with feline diabetes. I have to administer daily insulin shots along with feeding her special food... which is, of course, eating my bank account. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any budget-friendly pet foods or any little at-home remedies that could help? Suggestions? I know it's a long shot, but it never hurt to ask...

He's 7, she was 8 and they had never been separated since she had him. She died on May 8th (20 days ago) and he continues looking for her in all of the places she frequented (who said Cats have short term memories?). Often he will go to a certain spot, pause, then call out loudly for her. It breaks my heart especially because she died on account of me not questioning why her belly was bloated (died of a ruptured uterus) while there was still enough time to save her. I dismissed it as weight gain and possibly some constipation.

There's another Cat I have from a separate litter who is also her offspring and over the past week, he's been doing something similar...looking for her.

Thanks very much for your help!

I cannot affort a vet. My cat is drinking, but meows when is picked up. Looks dull and in discomfort. I suspect that his tummy is sore. I have not seen him use the litter. He has been sick but brought up just a watery solution as he has not eaten for several days. What can I use to rehydrate him? He is about three years old and has never been a big or vigorous cat unlike his playmate and housemate. But he is very, very loving and it is breaking my heart to see him like this. Is there any help out there please. If you need to know more please email me. Thank you Sylvia.

He has leukemia (idk if i spelt it right) and the doctor said he won't live for more than half a year but we werent expecting it to be this soon. For the last couple of days he's just been laying in the same spot, but today he doesn't want to move AT ALL, he isnt eating, and he's been going to the bathroom on himself. We'd take him to the vet but theyre closed today. He's having trouble breathing and he just gave out 3 loud meows, idk if its because of pain or the trouble breathing. I dont expect for him to live, but is there anything I can do?

It's smaller than the size of my palm, which is very small. I found it all alone, and I searched for a mama cat or other kittens and couldn't find any. It's eyes are really gunky, and it's absolutely terrified. I can't get it to drink or eat anything, and the vets in town are closed for Memorial Day. What should I do?

I just got a 9 week old kitten and she's got bright blue eyes, is this likely to change as she gets older? I know human babies usually have blue eyes when they're born and that changes in the first few years so I wondered if cats were the same...

I recently moved from NY to FL ( stupid move) and my 6 year old cat had an upper respitory infection. I brought him to a new vet and he treated the infection... at the same time however he claimed he heard a heart murmur and then said an x ray was in order to make sure the heart looked normal. I went for it. The heart was fine, however the vet said the murmur is probably due to hypertension. HE tested the cat's blood pressure and found it to be higher than normal....
Am I being taken for a ride here? Could my cat just have been nervous at a new vets office? I mean people have white coat hypertension, why couldn't cats?

I have two cats. One is 15+ pounds. The other is barely 9. They are both 13 years old. The larger one got worms so I gave him D-Worm (piperazine) at the recommended dosage of 1 teaspoon mixed into his food. I tried to isolate the smaller cat, especially since the big guy wasn't interested in the food, but my flatmate let him in, and he ate all the medicated food. Now it's maybe twelve hours later, and he's unsteady on his feet, like he's dizzy, and when he sits, he sways slightly back and forth. His face twitches sometimes and he stares into space. He's vomited at least three times. His breath is shallow and his heartbeat is faster than usual. He still uses the litter box, meows, purrs, and he's not twitching in anywhere except his face. I called the helpline and they said unless he's starting to show signs of a seizure, that cats are unusually sensitive to even proper doses. It's late and I'd like to sleep knowing the cat will be okay without calling the 24hour vet. How serious???

It's not that I'm cheap; I'm just not ready to spend four hundred dollars on a cat (like I said, he's a newborn). Could someone suggest places to bring the cat to for free or cheap checkups/shots. Does the ASPCA do this? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Just trying to save a cat

You see my parents (a long time ago) bought a Cat that I named Midnight! We were the only ones (me and the cat!) that seemed to understand each other. Hes been having some problems with his bladder and pees like everywhere! My mom bought special food for him but it didn't make much of a difference..... My dad said just throw him out and let him go! I try to convince them not to throw the cat out but they don't listen. Does anyone know what to tell me, that I can tell them to not get rid of the cat! By the way I'm only 11 so its hard to think of good things to say... Can someone please help me out (yes I know I put 1980 its because I despretly wanted to ask the question so I lied about my age)?

My cat has been pregnant for the last 8 or so weeks. She was only approx. 8months old when she became pregnant and was still only a kitten herself. However when checking on her this morning at half 11 she was found having given birth to a small kitten in her litter box. the kitten was stone cold. It is now 12 hours later and is still a brave size, she has been producing a bloody dischare now and again but no sign f the rest of the litter. What should i do now?
