What kind of food did you give her. I heard that there are still cases of pet poisoning showing up at the vet clinics from the tainted by melamine sources.

A vet told me once that that type of vomit is from an empty stomach.
Do you have a vet in the area that will answer calls on off hours??
I would make sure there is water and dry food for the cat at all times till you can see a vet.

A possibilitie is:
Your cat has scratched its throat and thinks that there is somthing trapped so its trying to cough it up, and it hasnt eaten anything because the scratch is irritating it when it eats.
I have several cats and have experienced a similar problem, but take it to the vet to be sure.

Yes, if there is a vet, get her to it. If not, put out plenty of water and if you can, some grass to aid in the digestion. Don't force her to eat - especially as someone said - there is a recall on cat/dog foods (mostly the wet kind). It can be she tried to eat/drink too fast (our animals do it when they become little pigs and gulp their food), or it can be a hairball trying to come out. Does she feel warm, is she lethargic? If not, chances are it's something not to be alarmed about.

She is likely to puke up a "Fur ball". She has been licking herself and got a ball of fur in her stomach, if she has access to grass she will eat some to make herself sick. Once she has got rid of the fur ball( throw it up) she will be OK. Give her water if she'll drink it.

I would call a vet and ask them about it. They would be able to give you the correct answer. they will also tell you if your cat needs medical attention.

see if you can find a 24-hour vet. if it weren't for the pet food scare, i wouldn't say that, but you never know. i'd hate to see you lose a pet because you waited too long. good luck.
