I just got a 9 week old kitten and she's got bright blue eyes, is this likely to change as she gets older? I know human babies usually have blue eyes when they're born and that changes in the first few years so I wondered if cats were the same...

very young kittens have a dark blue color to thier eyes, then at about 5-6 weeks old, their eyes begin to change color to their permanant color. If your kitten is truly 9 weeks old, the color should be the color it will always be (or really close to it). Cat's eyes do not change color unless they have an injury to the iris(color part of the eye), but then the color usually changes to a lighter version of their regular color.

Yes they do my cat who is now 7 has yellow eyes when i got him they where green and he was 1 so over the years they do change

My cat has bright blue eyes as well, and they've always been like that. Your kitten's eyes will only change if it's in her genes.

i have a cat and my cats eyes changed from 1mouth to 3 mouths then it stop so if its older i think you should take it to a vet.

kittens are born with bue eyes & change at 6 weeks.

Kittens eyes do change color. If your kitten has siamese in it, then it may retain the blue color.

It depends on the breed. If it's mixed, then thy could very possibly change.
