Okay this started back on Feb. 8th, My cat Seagrum went to the vet for watery eye and sneezing, the eye was really bad. We got medicine to put in the eye and nothing, so went back 5 more times with a different medicine each time, one of the visits he had to have fluids...He seemed to get better, eye stoped watery as much. He was really bad, I thought I was gonna lose him. But all of the sudden he got better, the eye completely stoped watering, now it's kind of tearing maybe a tear or two a day, I don't know how to make it stop all together. And neither does the vet. They don't have a clue as to what it was and why he still tears up every now and then. Has anyone had this happen? And what came of it? What should I tell the vet to look for? And I do take care of my animals, I spent on this one incident over a grand to the vet. He acts fine and plays hard all day long. He is 3 years old and very active.

My cat is not using the litter box all the time. He will urinate in his litter box but sometimes he does not defecate in it. He started doing this a week ago and he will defecate anywhere but in his litter box. especially when I am at home. When I am at home he will always do it somewhere else but in the litter box. When I am out he will do it in the litter box. I do not know why this is hapenning but I am 3 months pregnant I cannot chnage his litter box anymore. My husband will help me at times and he does not get along with him at all. Does my pregnancy have to do with this or me not being able to clean the litter box all the time?

I have to travel this week, and will be driving about 2 1/2 hours. I have to bring my cat with me - she will be in her carrier. She has always been fine in the car, but I've never had her in the car for this long. Any advice as to how to keep her calm and happy?

I don't want to give him his old food because I am just not comfortable with it after the recall. Will the diarrhea eventually stop once he gets used to the new food? He has had for about 2 days now.

What does it mean when a cat uses his front right leg to make a digging sound on the rug? Marshall has been doing it on my rug and his room's rug, just by going back and forth with his front right paw, looking and searching or digging for something. What does it mean? Is it normal? It baffles me. Wylie does it on the side of a box or a box lid too, just not on the floor. Any ideas?

I have a 5 week old kitten who weighs 5.29 ounces, which she was suppose t be at on her first week. I feed her milk replacement formula, and i have this surup stuff to help her get all teh minerals and all that she needs, i just got can food thats from the brand name medi cal, which she likes but i only fed her once with that. cause i'm not sure if i should since she hasn't grown or anything, so i want to stick her with the milk. so if anyone has any great ideas how to get a little kitten to start growing and gaining that would be a big help for me.

I live in the countryside in Devon, and there are free range chickens wandering about. The other night I was looking out of my kitchen window after hearing a lot of commotion from the chickens, when I went out to investigate what the problem was I noticed a pair of eyes reflecting from the back light. There were feathers strewn about everywhere. I then noticed some type of animal which looked like a black cat only six or eight times bigger running off with a chicken in it's mouth. It definitely was not a badger a fox or a dog, what could it be, it was a little frightening to be confronted with this animal, and I had a clear view of it as it was only about twenty feet away from me before it took off.

My cat will not eat any type of cat food unless there are by-products. How do I get her to eat healthy cat food? It is strange because my husband and I have such a healthy diet, we're vegetarians. Our cat is 15 months, weighs 10 pounds and eats about a 1/2 cup of dry food a day, no more. I've had her since 5 weeks. Twice a week I will give her wet food but she eats very little. We live in the country and she will eat a mouse every now and then. Thanks for your advice.

Our cat (we've had him for over 18 months) has laways been an inside cat. He's got out a couple of times lately but has only been gone for an hour or so and has always come back. He got out this afternoon and we haven't seen him for about 7 hours...is he likely to know how to find our house again if he's wandered off? I've put his food bowl at the front door - is there anything else we can do?

My cat has a small scab (singular, about 3mm wide) just below his ear and above the eye in that patch of skin below cat's ears that doesn't have much hair on it.

It's not infected or anything and it's very small - originally I just put it down to a cut because he playfights with his sister all the time.

But I've noticed an identical scab on the other side of his face, which makes me think it could be something else.

Obviously, I'll take him to the vets if they don't clear up, but I wondered if anyone here might know what this could be?

Hi everyone,

My kitten is 8 months old. We've had him since he was 8 weeks old, and immediately took him to the vet for all his check-ups and injections. He has never been allowed outside and never will be!

At 8 weeks old, the vet gave him a worming treatment as a precaution, but said that he didn't appear to have them. Since then, we have found no signs of worms in his litter or on his fur.

However, due to some of the answers to another question I asked about my kitten wanting food all the time, I'm worried that he may have worms without us realising.

When the vet gave him his first course of worming treatments as a precaution, he told us that we wouldn't need to do it again because we'd be keeping him indoors and therefore he wouldn't pick up worms from anywhere.

If anyone could give me any help I'd really appreciate it, as I'm worried about my kitty now!

Thank you,

xx Emmie

So the wife is freaking out. I sent the kids on an Easter practice mission to look around the house for cat scuds but they didn't find any. She hasn't eaten much since she got back from the vet. Is that normal? She does drink and pee normally it seems.

My cat has been throwing up alot. It started yesterday, and has gotten worse tonight. He only eats dry food, and it's *not* any of that which has been recalled, because it's dry. Besides that, I've had these kibbles longer than the recall. He's strictly an indoor kitty, and has no fleas. He does have tremendous bad breath though. Could a bad tooth perhaps cause him to throw up everything? All night? I can't afford to take him to a vet right now!--I'm unemployed! What should I do?

Hi, I am about to move in to my first solo apartment. I'm right out of college and haven't lived alone (without roommates) before. I have been thinking about getting a cat to keep me company, and I have always noticed that cats seem to like me and I like their quiet, peaceful, easygoing nature because that's my lifestyle. The question is, will my 766 sq. foot home and the fact that I do shift work be okay for a cat, as in...will the cat be happy with hours of alone time and a small one bedroom apartment to walk around in? Is this enough space? I am getting a cat from the shelter. Should I get 2 to keep each other company? Advice from cat-owners very appreciated!! I would love to help a shelter cat, and the company would be welcome :-)
