I have a long haired cat that used to have hairballs frequently. Brush your cat regularly, and buy cat food that has anti-hairball goodness. I linked the brand that I use below. It has worked wonders.

I had a cat that had a problem with hair balls. The thing is you can brush a cat continually but they will still get them. With fur it cannot be digested, so it can be trapped in the cats intestines, which is not good if it stays. this is why cats cough them up, and yes they do smell. I have tried fur ball paste, fur ball treats, loads of brands but the one which i found really affective was one recommended by my vet. Science plan fur ball control. This is also gentle on the stomach and most cats have no problem transferring from their old food to this one.

As for under your bed, it may be a good idea to put an old piece of carpet underneath, then it is easy to pull out and it is really easy to clean with cleaners, and being an old piece you can do what ever you need to to get rid of the smell and it wont matter if it damages the carpet.

Good luck

You can buy a flavored pet product for that purpose. My cats never thought it was yummie as they advertize. Give the cat a half to a full teaspoon of vasoline every month. yes thats right I said vasoline. It will help the hair pass with the stool. you can rub it on their front paws, put some in their mouth, whatever it takes. remember they will not tolerate dirty fur. vasoline anywhere is a no no to your cat. It will lick it off.

Cats are one of the most cleanest animals there is, and they will not stop licking themselves! You could try putting something under your bed they wont like one of those timed air freshners, that will definatly keep them away from under your bed but to be honest there is no way of stopping them coughing up hairballs!

try getting hairball formula food. mix the foods together the food he/she is used to and the new food. or he/she will have upset stomach. try that for a little while and if that doesn't work call your vet. is cat long or short hair? if long hair u need to brush a lot or even try giving a bath to get rid of all the loose hairs

Hiya, If she is a long haired cat brush her regularly, my cat gets a lot of hair balls when he is due to have his fontline flea treatment on he is allergic to flea bites and when it's "flea" season and he is coming up to needing is 6 weeks treatment he tends to groom a lot. This causes a lot of fur balls. Once he has been treated he is fine.

Usually, that is too long for me. I think it depends on the guy and also his face though. Certain guys can pull off long hair and other people can't.

Give her Vaseline (petroleum jelly). Some cats will lick it right off your finger, like a gob of it, for others you have to "make" them eat it. Vet recommended, works really well. Do twice a week to start, then down to once a week, then just every so often.

They sell hairball preventative in pet stores. It comes in a tube, like toothpaste. Try to get one that is meat flavored and the cat should lick it right off your finger. If you can not get one that is meat flavored you will have to squeeze it onto the top of her paw so that she licks it off. Follow the package directions as to how often she should get it.
