Oh my god that is really expensive, one of my cats was done two weeks ago and it cost £35.
I used the PDSA, but any RSPCA clinic will be able to help.

That doesn't sound expensive. It seems a bit strange they are saying the cat does not need vaccinations - is she very young or just due a booster? The cat won't NEED to have had vaccinations to be spayed but if she hasn't had any you should think about getting her jabs when she has recovered from the operation.
Your cat will need a full anaesthetic for the surgery and will have stitches. As a result you will need to make sure she is kept in for a few days after the op and she will also need to be taken back for a check up and to have the stitches removed (this is usually included in the price of the spay but check that there won't be an extra cost).

That is expensive, at our vets it costs £45 for a cat spay. Don't know what they are on about the vaccinations? All cats should be vaccinated, and this involved 2 separate injections about 3-4 weeks apart. Once this is done, she will need yearly booster injections.

To neuter a female cat in the medway area in Kent your looking at anywhere between £45 and £60. This may not include post op pain relief so double check your quote, but should always include some form of antibiotic via injection and suture removal 10-14days later. This type of operation is classed as routine in the veterinary profession purely because it is carried out daily. But we must not forget it is a professional service we receive from the vets and generally only the best for our pets. I think you get what you pay for in this profession - good quality service at some kind of cost!
Your cat can be neutered with out the requirement of being pre-vaccinated and should be careful having done at the same time - yes it will save you the cost of a consult check and another visit but if they were to react to the vaccine for some strange reason you wouldn't readily be aware of it whilst they were under GA. Phone round vets and get the overall opinion in your area.

How much is that in US dollars?

If your cat is 6 months or older, she should have already been done with her vaccinations. They're usually started at 8 weeks, done by the time spaying and neutering is to take place.

How much time do they need to give a vaccination, lol. It takes about 30 seconds. They probably meant save money, not time.

You can generally get it done without having the vaccinations but you would have to pay for the visit and the vaccinations if you have them done at a later date. If you put your cats into a cattery they will insist on the cat having the vaccinations. I would say that if you can afford it it will be worth paying for it now.

I have two kitties, both have been spayed & neither have had immunisations. If you are on benefits/student/oap etc you can get in contact with the catsa protection league & they will send you a voucher to get about £20 off the price.

I'd reccommended you try different vets as you'd be suprised how the prices vary & also if you are near a PDSA try there too.

Your cat needs to be vaccinated as well.
I paid £55 to have my kitten spayed just before Christmas (at a privately run vet's in Ipswich, not RSPCA or anything) this price included a dose of antibiotics and pain killer.

Not sure what that is in U.S. dollars but hope you can figure it out. Vets vary, so call around. $100-$130.00. you cannot spay a cat til 6 months of age so the shots should be done. I hear some do it at 4 months now but i'd wait if i were you.

no that is not expensive. It is about average and yes they can have her vacs done at the same time and the price will be added to the spay

so why would they not want to vaccinate her too?
