So it is almost bald. Now my other cat that is her sister is mean to her and wants to keep fighting. Its like the sister doesnt recognize the bald one... Is there something I can do so they can get along again???

I know that IAMS hard food is acceptable but I am feeding my cats the Fancy Feast. They seem fine but I would really like to know which of the Purina brands have been recalled - they have so many.

Please read the whole question so that you don't accidentally answer with something I already mentioned. >.<

My mom's friend's cat has been sick for a while, but she hasn't had an opportunity to take him to the vet with the urine sample he told her to get. His symptoms are weight loss, major loss of fur but no itchiness or redness, no change in apetite or how much water he drinks, no odd behavior. I've looked into it myself, and all I've been able to come up with is Feline Endocrine Alopecia, but the only symptom I could find was the hair loss, not the weight loss. He used to be plump, but now he's skinny and bony...At first we thought it was Diabetes but he isn't drinking a lot and there's no change in how much he uses the litter box. He's a neutered male by the way, and around 5-7 years old I think (we don't really know, he was adopted).

Does anyone have any idea as to what it is?

Once a cat comes into heat, and is spayed and de-clawed, Im told the cat changes... what kind of changes come over the cat? Im debating on having this done or not.

She is about 18 years old and has lived peacefully for about 9 years with my other male cat. I just acquired another female cat about 9 months ago from outdoors but just recently, my 18 year old cat has started urinating on the floor-she always goes in the same spot (all of her blood work is normal but she was just treated for a bladder infection). The new cat picks on her
quite a bit so I don't know what goes on when I am not at
home. Does this sound like a behavorial problem or something else? Need some advice as I really do not want to have to get rid of the new cat-she is adorable. P.S. I do have 2 litter boxes but they all seem to use the same one most of the time.

my cat just passed away last tuesday. my heart is hurting but i almost believe this cat will come back to me..now listen i realize he died! i realized he in his former form is gone! but im also uneducated when it comes to knowing anything about a afterlife! i want to learn badly! but i want to find a religion that believes in reincarnation..do u know of any? i have told this to alot of people many supported my thoughts (probley out of wanting me to stop crying) a few have told me to seek a phychiatrist FAST! i dont believe im mentel for feeling this way..do you? i mean i know my cats gone but i feel in my heart one of these days i will open my door or look out my window and he will be there in the form of a orange striped tabby cat..it will look identical to him and even act like him..i also believe seeming his mom is pregnant that she might give birth to him again..im a strong willed person..im not CRAZY OR A NUTBAG! im simply exploring my options of belief! whats your thoughts?

I have a 2 year old sickly cat. I found him at about a month old wandering around in a bad neighborhood. I think he aquired a major illness living outdoors in bad conditions. When I feed him that wet packaged cat food he pukes. When I feed him dry foods, his crap seems normal enough, it just smells worse than an animals crap should smell and I'm tired of a terrible smelling apartment.

So I have a 10 month old kitten who used to sleep through the night. Now all of a sudden he cries in the morning at our door (my boyfriend has bad allergies so he sleeps outside). I'll get up and feed him when I hear him crying and he will eat for about 45 seconds then he is back at the door crying again. Plus he scratches at the door and plays with the door stopper from the other side which is really annoying. We play with him plenty during the day so I don't know what it could be. Does anyone have any suggestions because currently we are locking him in the bathroom with his litter-box, food, and water when he won't stop cyring and we don't have to be up for a couple more hours. HELP please!!!!!!!

My cat has a black spot right on his gums inside his mouth. It looks like it is getting bigger. What is this, could it be serious? He is an orange tabby btw if that matters... :)

Hi,

I have a female cat who is 1 year old this month - some aspects of her behaviour worry me a bit!! Can you let me know if this is normal or if anyone else's cats behave like this?

-She quite literally bounces off the walls - she runs up them and jumps off them!

-When she is is season she "growls" and lies on the floor with her tail up. For a week.

-She doesn't just attack flies/spiders etc... she eats them too!

-She has "mad moments" where she attacks her own back legs and tail.

-She doesn't delicately chew on her cat grass, she rolls in it and attacks it.

-She spends 10 minutes burying her poo in her litter box.

-She is obsessed with following me to the bathroom, if I don't let her in with me, she sits outside and yowls until I come out.

She was born wild, and her mum got run over, so I took her in, she was 3 months old. (I just thought I'd mention this in case it is relative!)

Thanks!

We moved into this house, and the cats were left here, and we want them outside, but if we keep the food outside, the raccoons come by to eat it.One cat can jump, but the other is too fat, so putting the food up high is not an option.

Vet said she had diluted urine & the kidney test came back elevated. She was good in "Liver, protein, cholesterall, electrolites, thyroid, red & white blood cells ... but she's lost 25 % of her weight, and is going bald.

Vet says they'd like to run more tests, but I fear that she's dying ... I guess I'm paronoid about vets who try to take every dime from you, and want an opinion if spending an extra $500.00 would result in my cat living a QUALITY life as opposed to a longer life.

Will she stop doing this once she has been spayed. I never had this problem with her until she came into season. What can I do for the next week before she is spayed. Can I discourage her? Is it normal to poo like this (away from the litter tray?)

I want to ask the young man that mentioned that his overweight cat is now at a healthy weight a question............How long did it take for your cat to lose it's weight?

Also, to the lady that mentioned feeding them both weight management food - I do that now. The problem is they both roam freely around the house all day. I work full time. I'm not sure how to set a schedule to feed them.

Thanks to all of your for responding.

I am looking to get a new house cat I am willing to spend around $300.00 for maybe a Bengal, Ragdoll, Main Coon, Birman, Norwegian Forest Cat, Ocicat, or Siberian. I would absolutely love to have one of these cats but I have a three year old so therefore not much money. Does anyone know how much all these cats usually are priced for or where you might be able to get one alittle or alot cheaper.

My cat likes to poop in one of my moms plants.....we have to bring it inside in the winter time so it doesn't die and all of a sudden this year (my cats been at my house for 2 years now) my cat desides she wants to use it as a litter box...she digs and then she poops......now i've tryed a couple of different things to stop her....i've squirted her with a water bottle (she likes it now), i put paper plates in the pot so she couldn't get to the dirt (she pooped on the plate lol), and i just filled it with some traprock (gravel) so she couln't dig....but she just poops on top of the traprock.....it was funny at first but now its just annoying!!!!! someone help me...what can i do????

my cat is heavily pregnant and due any time. sunday night she started acting very strange and i was certain she was having her kittens that night. however...no kittens. now all she does is sleep and groom. but i have noticed that every few minutes her tail starts twitching. i have not read anything about that being a sign of impending labor. i wasnt sure if anything was wrong and i tried to take her to the vet but they must not be too concerned because they just told me they wouldnt be able to see her until next week. so i was hoping if anyone could tell me why her tail is twitching. she was 64 days pregnant on the 18...and that was the day i thought for sure she was in labor...can anyone tell me what to look for to know that labor has begun?
