Once a cat comes into heat, and is spayed and de-clawed, Im told the cat changes... what kind of changes come over the cat? Im debating on having this done or not.

Spaying doesn't change a cat but declawing often will! Declawed cats often have behavioral problems; not using the litterbox and biting are both common in declawed cats. It's illegal in many countries, all of Europe and several other countries as well. Not only is it very painful but it creates as many problems as it solves. You can train your cat not to scratch the furniture, please take a look at the page in the source for a lot of information on why cats scratch and how to teach them to use the scratching post only.

I've never witnessed any changes in our cat, Felix, after having him neutered. I don't know about spaying. But I can tell you that I'm soooo glad that we had our cat completely de-clawed. Too, it didn't seem to bother him except for the first day or so afterward. My girlfriend said the same thing about having both of her cats de-clawed. It has saved our furniture and drapes from being wrecked. And has saved my children and my two dogs from being clawed in the face.
P.S. -- I have to respectively disagree with rotc909. The cat is put under by an anesthetic for the surgical procedure of de-clawing and an infection DOES NOT usually set in. It's not "a death sentence" for their spirits, either. In fact, my vet had her own cats declawed. A skilled surgeon for the procedure is required--needless to say.

Spaying or neutering makes a more acceptable pet. It makes them more relaxed and you don't to worry about overpopulation of cats. I'm not big on de-clawing because if the cat get's out, it has no defense. I've seen a dog kill a declawed cat and if the cat had had claws, he'd still be alive. You cannot let them outside if they don't have claws....ever. I keep my kitties trimmed or put on those plastic "fingernails" that you can glue on their claws to protect furniture and skin. They don't meow as much they won't spray well most won't,they won't wreck your furniture, they gain weight n look healthier. They usually bug to leave the house when it comes to mating or being in heat n it won't bug to go anymore to go out n no howling which they do as a calling when they smell another cat or r in heat.I have done n my whole family of 28 cats between 5 people they r all declawed, spayed n neutered. It's worth doing with a home cat.

well from experiencing this with clients it depends

some cats get irratable moody angry attack other cats pets

some end up getting rid of the cat or get pheromon based items to help them, but then there are cats that seem the same.

there is a slight chance of this, but there is one

the spaying will be a good change .she or he will not have to suffer and be in lots of pain when the heat comes.they will be more relaxed and will not get ovary cancers as when they male +female get the surgeries that one almost disappears.the declawing is a bad idea.it is very painful.it is like us humans getting our finger nails getting pulled out 1by 1/infections almost always set in.and your cat will be a scard and mad for a long long while as it takes years for the pain to get a little better.even vets will tell you to please do not declaw as it;s a death sentence for the pets spirts they are always in pain and get sick from the awful operation...LOL
