spray the dirt with "Get Off of My Garden" Spray it will keep the kitty away from the plant.

My guess is that she poops there because she likes a plant in her litter box. I had a cat that did that to an indoor tree. Change the soil so it doesn't smell like kitty poo and then sprinkle crushed red pepper on top of the dirt (when it's dry or relatively so). You could also try making a wire mesh guard that sits atop the pot and has a hole in the center for the plant.

try changing the soil in the planter , most likely your cat or another has used this plant as a dumping station before and cat's will go back to the same spot . Your could also put moth balls around the soil the smell will discourage your cat from using it , also make sure you change the litter in your cat's box often , they are very fussy when it comes to that , they recognize things by smell and if it is well used the ammonia smell created by urine will make it look for another spot to go

One of my cats used to do this. We placed larger river rocks in the base of the plant. Try this and placing a very clean litter box next to the plant. I think a lot of cat owner dont keep their boxs clean enough. Stick your nose in your cats box..would YOU want to go potty in there? Does your house smell like a cat.. if so your box is dirty.

... Don't feel bad, limp_blink, my cat used to do that to - I think it's the earthy smell of the dirt that they like so much (pooping privilages are just a bonus). There's a pellet-style granule you can pick up at most garden shops or nurseries, it's all natural, but the smell is repellant to most felines and canines (the main ingredient is white pepper, so make sure you're wearing gloves when you handle it), and good luck! :) ...

Uh, you could plant cacti in the pot so's it'll poke her in the buttox when she tries to use it as a potty (and when you water cacti too much, they explode... totally awesome) It prob feels more natural to her... you could put a plant in her litterbox! Oh wait, that wouldn't work... Actually, prob the best thing to do would to put a cage arournd the plant. Problem solved :)

Clean her litter box more often. Or put one where the plant is.
