How old is you kitten? Sometimes more training is necessary. Please have your kitten examined by a veterinarian as there may be an underlying problem. Your kitten cannot tell you verbally that there is a problem and, more often than not, this is her way of telling you something isn't right. The only way to tell if you cat has a urinary tract infection is to have a urinalysis done at your veterinarian clinic. As for inappropriate bowel movements around your home, maybe your kitten has intestinal parasites - a very common ailment in young pups and kittens - that can be cured with a few deworming tablets for a few bucks from your vet. They may ask you to bring in a fecal sample to do a lab test and find out specifically what type of internal parasite is causing the problem - different types may require different medication.
It is worth your time and money to do these tests for the sake of your kitten's health and to save yourself the headaches of cleaning bills. What's more cost effective - $100 at the vet and a happy pet or $1000 in cleaning products and new carpet and still an unhealthy animal?

This really depends on the cat. Chances are that right now, she's learned and won't stop pooing and peeing everywhere. When she goes in for her spay, you need to SUPER clean everything, disinfect everything, and things you simply can't get the smell out of, get rid of. ( if you can ) Change out the litter in the box, scrub the box down. Consider using a totally different brand of litter. ( she simply could have decided she doesn't like the litter anymore-it happens) This way, when she comes home everything is new and different and clean.
However if she continues this behavior, aside from a few products you can try that i'm unaware of, you may have irreversable damage to the mental state of the cat, and you'll have to get rid of her. Hopefully, it won't come to that at all!
Good Luck!!

Last year our cat had kittens, we had one out of the whole bucn that refused to use the box! You would set her in it and she would take off like you had just lit her feet on fire. I had heard about this one new kitty litter that is supposed to help with litter box problems. It is called Cat Attrack. We tried it and it worked like a miracle. First time in the box she didn't take off and she continued to use the box after that. We used it for only about two months as it is a little bit more expensive, and slowly tried other things... it has worked great and we have had no more problems. You can find Cat Attrack at PetSmart, and they guarantee their product.

my cat started going wee in the corner by the door around the same time she started going into heat, and i'm hoping that it is because of that. i plan to get her spayed ASAP! but until then, i found that they don't like 'orange blast'--it's a degreasing cleaner that smells strongly of oranges, and i spray it in the area a few times a week. no problems since i started doing that! hopefully getting her spayed will fix the underlying issue, though.
good luck!

Getting her spayed will help but you need to get her off all hard food for a while she may have a bladder infection, which causes them to pee outside the litter box because they think the litter box is the problem. Please look for a good healthy soft food on www.natura.com or www.canidae.com.

Get her fixed and it will go away!!! We have a cat who has leukemia and we had trouble finding a vet to get her fixed. She backed up to my husband an soaked his feet. When we finally had her fixed it stopped. Get her fixed now. They recommend that you have a female fixed before she is six months and she goes into heat. She's not getting any so this is her way of letting the male cats know that she's ready Good Luck.

It might improve after you get her spayed, though some cats are brain-dead and just go wherever they want.
I had to get rid of one cat (well, I was just putting it outside at our apartment, and it dissapeared) it was already fixed, but it determined that the carpet in front of the utility closet was its bathroom. I ended up with a huge fee to get the carpet cleaned after we moved out. The cat was lucky to still be alive.

It might just a be a symptom of her in "heat", the most you can do is wait until she's spayed and if continues afterward consult your vet. because it could be lingering symptom of something else.
