Cats - February 2007

My orange tabby jumps in my lap when I sit down and snuggles with me, and especially likes to rub his cheeks on my face. He has a big purr. What a ham!

I have 2 cats - the a momma kitty and one of her babies who we had to keep. The baby is 5 months old, both are fixed (recently) and he's almost as big as she is now. He is still trying to nurse!!!!!! Any suggestions?

shes is nearly 12 months and is about to give birth, she keeps meowing and i know this is normal.. but i want her to stay in the box and she wont. some discharge is coming out but she wont stay in one place i know she is in pain, so what should i do?
also im scared she might eat her kittens even though she eats loadsss in a day i want to make sure she dosnt. so can any one help me???/

They don't have watery eyes or runny noses, and they don't seem to be having trouble breathing? I haven't used any new products in my home that they would be allergic to. Do cats catch colds like people? What could be the cause of this?

I kept finding rubber bouncy balls and catnip toys and candy wrappers and all kinds of crap in my shoes. Then one day I watched my kitten, Skeeter He was the one putting it all in my shoes. I think it's strange behavior for a cat. When he starts hunting for real am I going to step into a dead mouse or something.?

My 3 year old abbysinnian got thin and weak, then I noticed blood coming from his mouth. None of our vets had ever had a cat with this rare problem. It's like an auto-immune disease, my cat had been bleeding for weeks, before I even noticed. Unfortunetly there is no cure, except for constant transfusions. I guess I must be very unlucky. After 6 months of treatments of cortisone, special diets, and being shut inside 24/7 he was still bleeding so I sent him to God.

My cat has a cut on the top of her paw ,right between her two middle toes, we have been to the vet 5 times and its not healing. The vet found a sist under the scab and drained it. He then gave her a perscription for anti-biotics for the duration of two weeks. That two weeks is up and the vet gave us a perscription for an anti-septic spray. She has been getting the spray for a little over two weeks but the cut is still there. It dosent look infected but its still oozing a clear liquid.. I am worried and wondering if the vet is handleing this right. I am scared and feel like the cut will never heal.

Hey, I was wondering what can I do about my cat. His name is Cujo. My cat is a male. Hes turning 3 this summer.Hes really big and he weighs about 20lbs and he is Neutered. Okay, he attacks my female cat all the time, she is 8 years old. Sometimes he really hurts her and they've lived here together for almost 3 years. And also when we have people over Cujo attacks them. One time he almost scratched somones eye. I noticed though that he likes to go for peoples faces. Im honestly being serious about him. No one can pet him. If i try pet him he bites or scratches me. Then when we give the other cat attention(she doesnt scratch or bite) he gets jealous and attacks her.I tried trimming his claws but he bites me. He has really long nails. Also I took him to a vet to see about his behavior and to get his claws trimmed but he ended up scratching the vet on her face so she didnt want to do it after.
Oh and I should have added this in the beginning I found him when he was 2 weeks old abandoned

My son just saved my neighbors kitty from a pack of dogs. She is a sweet beautiful kitty but she is really really hurt. She has deep punctures looking like they are in her middle.and near her rear end.
There was a ton of blood. We put her in a kennel and hunted the neighbor down but it took us 2 hours to find them. She tried to stand and come out of the kennel but couldnt get far and turned and went back in the kennel. She also urinated all over herself in the kennel. What are her odds of survival? I really hope she makes it!
