Last week I decided to foster 4 5-6 week old kittens from the local SPCA, they had asked me because I volunteer there a lot, and I just couldn't say no. So I brought them home last Wednesday. Everything seemed fine. Everyone ate well (Actrium canned kitten food) and everyone drank their water, they were active and loved to play. That night however, one kitten threw up, I called the shelter and they told me that the kittens had probably either ate too much, or they aren't used to the food. So I was settled. Then, last night the smallest kitten, a little female tabby with some calico blotches, threw up all over the living room. These are small kittens, and she threw up a lot. Then he's the problem, this morning I took her and her brother to a seperate room where I feed them to eat first, because the other two kittens in the litter are larger and usually eat all the food. The little female wouldn't eat, she was too interested in me. She is very small, I'm concerned. She has to be hungry!

Her name is Jubilee, and she is about 8 months old. She is cute and can be destructable at times. She'll chew on the things that I don't want her to chew on. And she'll scratch on things that I don't want her to scratch on. How do I stop her from doing so? What are some good training methods?

Thanks :)

It seems that he wants something to pee *on* and so has a habit of peeing on the inside walls and corners of the covered litter box. It makes something of a mess. Suggestions?

My cat is 15 1/2 years old, and has developed glaucoma within the last year. Though he is relatively healthy, he is underweight, and he continually bumps into things. He is also extremely fussy about his water, and often knocks over his dish even after it has just been filled.

I would like to know what methods have worked for other cat owners when taking care of their aging or blind cats. Thanks!

I am very sad. I posted a question earlier about a pregnant cat. She did, indeed give birth. There is one stillborn kitten, which she gave birth to in the middle of the basement floor. I cant feel anything more inside of her, and she wont go near the kitten unless I am there. I called the vet, and I cannot get an "emergency" appointment until wednesday ( there is only 1 vet within 100 miles of my home). My question is, what should I do with the kitten? Should I confine my cat while I am doing that?

I have a cat that has an unusual problem. When it uses the litter box, it scratches and digs on the sides of the litter box in an effort to cover up its feces instead of actually scooping the litter over the waste itself. Although I have thought about buying a bigger litter box, I dont think size is an issue, because he is less than 10lbs and has more than enough room to get in there and do his business (he even digs holes). Does anyone know if this is some sort of behavioral or mental issue and if so, could give me some tips on how to correct the problem?

My oldest cat (Cleo) just recently got attacked by a dog. She's still recuperating, but will be fine. The problem is with my other cat (Caly). Right after we brought Cleo home from the vet, Caly was scared to death of her. They used to be best buds, but now if Caly gets anywhere near Cleo she starts hissing and growling. Cleo is on some different medications that make her drowsy, so she can't really defend herself when Caly tries to attack.

Is this a normal reaction for Caly to have? If so, will she go back to accepting Cleo again?

I came back to my aparment two days ago, and brought my cat with me in the car. she hates car rides, which is normal for her, but ever since we got home she has been acting so weird. she's been meowing and growling, not scratching, but meowing strangely. She growls when people pick her up but is normally so so sweet. She doesn't act hurt.

Also, at home, she chased a lot of mice, so i'm thinking that maybe she could have gotten some weird disease? I'm worried about her.

My cat was not able to urinate properly. So we took him to the doctor. He said that stones would have been formed becoz of the food which i give.saying so ,he removed some white color substance from my cats urinating part. And the he pressed some where near my cats stomach. All the urine came out. It took him more than 1 hour to take the waste out. After two days, i feel that still there is more stones formed in him. He weighs more. But one difference i could see is that, when there was the stone, while sleeping the stomach would go big whenever he takes a deep breath. but as of now its not. but i am still scared. i also find bad to take him to hospital now as he suffered a lot on the first day. Now when he urinates, its not a free flow but he urinates in drops. I am scared too much. He is less play full. the doctor has injected him and said that it may come once again. Can we permanently remove the stones? what food should i give to him. Currently i am giving fish, bread and milk. Please help

My 4 year old cat goes through periods of where his bottom lip will swell. I thought about what could be causing this but it has done it for a long time now. It will get better then a month or so later it gets swollen again. I've thought of everything from bitting on paper to rubbing it on the screen looking out the window. He is a house cat and has had his claws removed as well as neutered. I've has him on a health diet since a kitten and even had to put him on a diet Science Diet formula due to his size.
I've moved residences with him and it puffed up at the old place too. Any ideas as to why his lip and chin could keep puffing up from month to month even though he don't bite on anything other than food?

I have 3, four month old kittens and they have a wicked food agression. They growl at the food bowl and even the water bowl. Happen to drop food on the floor and it's a free for all. They hiss and growl and claw you if you try to take it away. None of my other cats have this food aggression so why do they? How can I stop it before it becomes a HUGE issue?

my cat used to be so fat (around 17 pounds) now he is about 12 pounds. he is about 8 years old and has been healthy. recently he has been peeing and pooping in the house (something he has never done before) and so i took him to the vet and they took a urine and poop sample and everything was normal. that was about 3 weeks ago. i put him in the basement for about a week with food and water and a bed. he was also taking laxatone. hes been out of the basement about a week and hasnt had any accidents that i know of but he did vomit once. now he has been barely moving all day just sitting in one spot and sleeping. usually he follows me around all day but he just doesnt want to get up. what is wrong with him?

I have a male cat (about 7 mos) who is driving me crazy...I know he wants to mate because he's started spraying. I don't want to let him out unsupervised so I thought I'd "take him for a walk". How in the world do you take a cat for a walk?

He has been fixed, hes not spraying, hes peeing on the couch. He used to do it due to UTI's, they have cleared up but the old habit is still there. He only does it every now and then, but its enough to make the smell linger. Ive found something that removes the smell and urine for awhile, but he keeps going back!

Hes only four.

My male cat, Stewie, is a little over 2 years old now. I felt kind of bad when I would leave for school for hours at a day and he was home by himself. So I got a female kitten, Phoenix, she's been living in my home for about 3 months now. But everytime my older cat would try to sleep, she would come up and try to play. He either just wakes up and moves or he starts growling at her. They do get along and Stewie follows her around to make sure she is OK. But how do I keep her from ruining my 2 year cat's nap???

I feed my cat Sicence Diet dry cat food. I have been looking at other questions and answers on yahoo.com, and a few people have said that Science Diet is not a good food, while others say it is one of the best. What ingredients are bad? Which are good? What is the very best cat food? I don't care about price. Also, I give my kitty 1 chewable vitamin every day...is that good? I'm getting conflicting answers.
