I am very sad. I posted a question earlier about a pregnant cat. She did, indeed give birth. There is one stillborn kitten, which she gave birth to in the middle of the basement floor. I cant feel anything more inside of her, and she wont go near the kitten unless I am there. I called the vet, and I cannot get an "emergency" appointment until wednesday ( there is only 1 vet within 100 miles of my home). My question is, what should I do with the kitten? Should I confine my cat while I am doing that?

She may have others hidden so don't confine her to long . She wants you to help her and the best you can do is get rid of the kitten. let her see you take it but don't let her see where you put it.if she has others she should be more concerned for them now as she knows you are helping.

Do not assume that there was only one kitten and that there aren't anymore.
Keep the laboring mother confined atleast during the night to make sure that she is done with labor and that there aren't anymore kittens to come.
While Momma is confinded, take this opportunity to dispose of the kitten.
If indeed this is the only kitten, the Momma will probably seek it out. . a nature and hormonal thing ( She knows she gave birth and her body is telling her she gave birth) and this is normal behavior for up to a few days.
Make sure that the grave you make for the kitten is deep enough that the Momma won't be able to seek it out.

wrap the kitten up in a towel and bury her in the morning. i'm sorry about your loss. and sorry about my answer earlier, i was going on that she didn't have any outward signs of pregnancy. take her to the vet tomorrow and sit there until they see you, she could be in real danger if there are more kittens inside. is there another vet just a bit further than the one you go to? wednesday could be too long. take her tomorrow and just sit there they will see you. keep an eye on her tonight, if she seems in distress call the vet's emergency number again. good luck. make sure the kitten is really dead, take it out of it's sack and feel for a heartbeat and rub her with a towel to make sure. newborn kittens especially ones that have been stuck for awhile might just be slow to respond and your cat might be in too much distress to do much about her. as for worring about the cat, she will know the kitten is dead, don't worry about her seeing you take the kitten away, they deal with their baby's deaths much differnt than humans do. and please have her spayed, a male cat will find a way in if a female is in heat. again sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry, that is very sad. If the kitten really is dead, you can dispose of it, bury it. I'd keep her confined but sounds like she's ok

You can either get it creamated at the vets office, or bury it. You may still want to get your cat checked to see if she has anymore kittens inside of her.

I wouldn't confine the cat while she's nursing her babies. She knows the baby is dead, and she probably wouldn't react to you taking her away. I know dogs and cats are different, but that happened with a friends dog of mine (she actually had layed on one of her pups and suffocated it on accident) and she was so busy with the others, she didn't even notice.

THE IDEA IS TO PREVENT DISEASE - - THAT IS PICK UP THE STILLBORN IN CLOTH/PAPER AND BURY IT OR BURN IT. THEN SCRUB THE AREA WHERE THE STILLBORN WAS W/ANTISEPTIC OF SOME KIND AND ALL THE WHILE PET THE MOM CAT AND PRAISE HER FOR DOING HER BEST. NO VET NEEDED

Bury the kitten. Watch your cat--she could get really sick pretty fast if she still has kittens inside of her.
And, I'm sure you've heard this before, but please spay your cat. Cat overpopulation is so sad and very preventable.
