Yea, we've got two females. No, I will not beat my cats nor throw them outside.

A squirt of water will work wonders.
Another tip: play with the kitty like crazy before you go to bed. If you can wear her out enough, she'll go to sleep when you do. Course that doesn't guarantee she won't wake up first...

Until your kitten is a little older, you might want to consider not letting her sleep with you. If that really is not an option for you, just be mindful of keeping your feet still when she is in the room. The only time my kittens ever attacked my toes/feet was when I moved them under the covers.
I always encourage my kittens to sleep at my shoulder level. If they are not ready to sleep with me, just play and attack, I let them stay out until they calm down.

I have the same issue and my cat is now a year old monster. In fact, according to the people that fostered him and his siblings as kittens, they ALL did the same thing.

When she does it, be sure to use a firm voice and say either "ow" or "no". It sounds kind of dorky but she might associate that with "hey that's hurting them maybe I should stop!"

Or if that doesn't work, have a spray bottle of water around and when she does it, spray her with it. It'll probably annoy her more than anything.

Been there, done that, got the tee-shirt!

I used to have two that did this a lot and I found the only soloution was to tuck the bottom of the duvet under the mattress. If your duvet isn't big enough you could try putting a sheet underneath it and tucking that in.

My two did grow out of it as they got older. But having said that we now have a 14 plus girl cat who likes to stand on our hair in the middle of the night, usually to signal that she wants feeding!

Good luck with your kittens, enyoy this lovely skittish phase because it doesn't last!

Oh yes, ever new episodes of "Toe Hunter." We have that at my house too. I would love for my cats to be able to sleep with us, but we have to keep them out of the bedroom for that reason. They are perfectly fine not sleeping in the same room you do. Just be sure to watch your toes when you get up because they will be stalked! Have fun!

well kittens will be kittens..try making her stay out of the bed room or try keeping your feet cover with more than one blanket.
if you only have one kitten also try getting another kitten .. they will keep themself busy and they wont bother you.. there is always room for one more. i have 8 cats of my own that have all been rescued cats and i have just raised 4 rescued kittens and found homes and now have 6 more that need homes.

Here's a site on cat behavior:

I had a kitten that attacked my eyelashes when I'd go into REM sleep! Yikes! he grew out of it, but I think I'd wake suddenly and toss him of me. My current cat sleeps on my chest and kneads, purrs and drools. I can roll over and he moves away, so I can deal with it.

Haha, my cat used to do that. I used to stay dead still to try to get him to sleep. Then I'd get an itch and scratch it and next thing I know, he's attacking me. I basically just kept him out of my room - when you're in bed, you're really not in the mood to try to teach them good habits. It worked well enough, he sleeps with me now without biting me... much.

Hang a cuple of tennis or golf balls where they will be amused. Do swing the balls back and forth to get their attention, and watch them chase the balls and have a ball.

It's just a cat fetish or something, because my cats did that too. But that whoop-dee-doo transformed them into outdoor cats in 2 days flat.

And now we're all happy :)
