My 3 month old kitten is extremely headstrong (was raised by hand and dosnt respond to a lot of motherly actions that the vet recommended). She uses her claws for most everything she does. I have tried training her using a waterbottle and treats for when she does bad, or good things. I have even gone as far as bopping her on the nose to find out she finds that as a personal insult and starts playing harder.

However, she dosnt mind the waterbottle at all, and it dosnt deter her from biting and clawing when she plays (and sometimes, may likewise encourage her). Treats when she is properly playing causes her to actually become extremely excited and can start her clawing.

She may be becoming anti-social as well, since I dont let people play with her much, due to the fact that she leaves some pretty nasty scratches. Anyone have any advice on this perplexing situation?

On December 11th, our beloved two-year-old kitty (Chase) sustained major jaw and tongue damage, apparently as a result of a car accident. His tongue quickly became infected and required three surgeries. As a result of the surgeries, he now has only about half of his tongue.

Because of his compromised tongue and his broken jaw, Chase is unable to eat on his own. (We're feeding him several times per day through a feeding tube.) He can move his jaw, but it is badly misaligned. His two (!) orthopedic surgeons are recommending that his jaw be repositioned and wired shut, which will cause him an enormous amount of discomfort and distress. We're wondering if he is ever going to be able to eat on his own or if he will require a feeding tube for the rest of his life.

Do you know of any cats who were able to eat on their own with just 50-60% of their tongues?

Thanks.

I have a 3 month old kitten. She went with me when I went to visit my family for new years. My mother in law?has a 9 month old male kitten, that is half mountain cat that doesn't really look like a kittten. My kitten is very small and playful. She's shy when she first meets new animals, cats especially, she usually hisses and arches her back. I wanted her to warm up to the male cat, so I put her in a room with him and all of her toys and shut the door. It wasn't until a couple days later when i was petting her and she walked away that I noticed her private was so red and irritated I couldn't tell which was her behind and which was her private. I looked closer to her private and it looks like her opening was penetrated by the male cat, her opening was still open, but today it's closed so it must have happened recently. Is there any other explaination for this? What do i do? Can she get pregnant?

Hi :) My neighbor got a male Bengal without papers (I have been raised around this breed all my life and could tell right away he was a pure bred bengal), anyway the question he wanted me to ask is~ this bengal cat got his normal female house cat pregnant and my neighbor is curious if the kittens are going to be worth any money....do any of you know? And dont worry I already gave my neighbor a huge lecture on being a responsible pet owner and the need to get his cats fixed...But he wont stop bugging me to ask this lol!

Our neighbour complained that are cats go in her garden, so we got her an ultrasonic alarm, that only cats and dogs can hear, which was quite expensive, and we even got her batteries, to operate it with.
6 months went by with no problems and now she came over and asked us to get her a second alarm because the first covers only 75% of her garden and she needs a second one to cover 100%.

My cats are not the only cats in the neighbourhood, other people have cats too. However, we got a second one for her, because as she said its our responsibility.
She is a lawyer and makes loads of money.
Should I have got her THE SECOND ALARM??
Or she should have got it herself??

He's a neutered 15 years old cat named Henry who is used to being an 'inside-outside' cat but has had to come in permanently since he is too old to be outside and various neighborhood cats were beating him up (in his own yard mind you). We've tried keeping him awake during the day, but we don't have much time to do that. We also tried playing with him before we go to bed to try and tire him out. So far nothing has helped. He paces and meows (a low, deep yowl) for 3 or 4 hours every night before settling down and finally getting some sleep.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

she is aproximately 1year old. she has never gone missing before.i rescued her myself about 8months ago and nursed her back to health after an horrific accident.she has always been well loved and pampered.i have recently moved but she hasn't attempted to find her way back to the old house (which is approx 15miles away )at all when ever she'd been let out since the move and seemed perfectly content and settled.she was in the garden one minute and about 10mins later when i checked, she was no where to be seen and i've failed to find her since.i am desperately worried and miss her terribly. i haven't celebrated xmas or the new year as i spent it searching for her.any likely suggestions?

My cat was in a fight about a month ago. Today he scratched open a scab, and it smelled like cat poop. There was bloody puss every where, and I had to give him a bath. He is still draining and it stinks, is there anything I can do?

I don't mean what the costs are to the cat. I don't mean to be curt but I keep receiving rude answers stating that it's inhumane and I'm not fit to own my cat if I'm considering it. What would be inhumane is if I had to give my cat to the only shelter in my area that happens to be overloaded and, a high kill shelter because I am allergic to the his scratches and he chews the nail caps off and then injests them causing him illness. I have exhausted every other avenue and I just am looking for an average price. Maybe someone has had their cat declawed and can tell me how much they paid.

Thanks!

I am feeding him MediCal Develoment Formula (canned). I was feeding him as much as he wanted, which worked out to half of a 170 g (6 oz) can everyday. But he was vomiting. I called the vet and he said to limit him to 1/3 of a can a day because he may be overeating, thus causing sickness. So now I feed him 1/3 of a can divided up over 3 feedings. He eats his portion very quickly - within seconds, and then meows for more and sits by his empty dish looking forlorn. He has, however, stopped vomiting. But he acts like I am starving him!

Sometimes when i scratch my cats chest when he's laying on his back, he squeezes my hand with his paws-really hard. he doesn't use his claws when he does it, but he won't let go either. sometimes he also bites the hand i am scratching him with. think it's just cuz he likes it so that's his way of affection, or could it be bothering him?
