Sometimes when i scratch my cats chest when he's laying on his back, he squeezes my hand with his paws-really hard. he doesn't use his claws when he does it, but he won't let go either. sometimes he also bites the hand i am scratching him with. think it's just cuz he likes it so that's his way of affection, or could it be bothering him?

My cat does that a lot, but I know she likes it, she bites, and uses her back claws, but doesn't hurt very much, she just wants to play.

some special breeds of cats use forearms like humans do--they will hug your arm and bring you closer to them just to say hi, i know you are there. when you scratch and pet their undersides, they are feeling the closest thing to sex they will get and they often enjoy this--their hind feet will start kicking, just as in their sex act, and they will nip, as they do when mating. they also do this while playing with other kitties--watch kittens play--you will witness what tthe kitty is doing to you all over the place!!!

sometimes the male kitties bite too hard when playing--also part of the mating ritual of cats--males nip and bite more than females. the male kitty has to bite the scruff of the female's neck during their ritual, and that is why male kitties bite more than females.
my little one would nip my hand between thumb and index finger an suckle. he willl still do this for relaxation just before sleeping.he is 6months now.

he will not be so lovey if it were bothering him--you are his momms--he loves you.

It doesn't hurt or bother him. You're intiating playful behavior. If you want to still play with him but want to deter him from biting your hand, replace your hand with a toy that is acceptable for him to bite. Otherwise, it's not gonna be so cute when he's all grown up with big teeth and 14 pounds to throw around, lol. Hope this helps! :o)

It's not bothering him, don't worry. If it was, you'd notice, he'd be trying to get away and mewing.
My new kitten, seven week old Yoshi, is anything but fickle. He plays with our dog (shih tzu) and sleeps with me on my bed. He rubs against your face, and he licks me (though probably because he tastes leftover food...).
I don't care what people say about cats being worst then dogs as they can't love. I love my Yoshi, and he loves us. (And not just because we feed him!)
Enjoy your cat, and keep him an indoors cat. Note that indoor cats live the average life of 15, whilst outdoors live to around 8. Not to mention food posioning, other stray animals, cars... ect.

I think first part of paw squeezing yours is for enjoyment, the nipping bite is meant for you to stop it now! Leave cat alone for its nap.

It had an enough excitement for the moment.

Sounds like he does not like having his chest or belly rubbed and he wants you to stop doing it. Some cats accept this stroking and others do not. In an animal the belly is a very vulnerable spot and one they feel a need to protect.

He thinks that you are playing with him. Mine do that all the time. One of my cats actually shows her affection by nipping the sides of my fingers and hands when I am petting her. It just shows that they trust you and love you.

Uh--HELLO---He DOESN'T like it! All cats are different, and a LOT of them (mostly males) do NOT like their belly or chest scratched. Try scratching him just above the tail area instead. Almost all cats love this.

It could be either. I have one cat that hates for you to touch her stomach/chest area like that and will kick and bite you because she hates it. And I have one cat that loves it and will lick and nip you because he loves it. You have to know your cat and watch kitty's expressions. Hint: many times dilated eyes are one clue that they are not happy with something.
