My cat had a kitten about six weeks ago and is still nursing him, well in the past two weeks I've noticed that she is getting fat again and is being even more lazy and sleepy than normal could she be pregnant again. My friends keep telling me cats can't get pregnant if theres still a kitten nursing. Is that true? Please someone help

Please take your cat to the veterinarian to be checked over.
They can answer this question for you.
Tell your veterinarian yours concerns how long you noticed this
the more information you can give to the vet the better advice you may get and if you cat is sick tell the vet this too.

There is a small chance that she could be pregnant again while nursing. Though the hormones produced from lactation generally prevent it from happening again you never know... Keep her inside the house at all times and away from possible mates. If she is gaining weight it could be that she was having difficulty in her diet when she was pregnant. Cats like people can have difficulty eating certain things while pregnant and even developing sensitivity to some things. I wouldn't worry about it too much unless she has been outside lately. She needs to be fixed as soon as the kitten is weaned. Also taking her to a vet to check wouldn't hurt. She could be gaining weight due to something else. Good luck.

Ok, are you letting her run around unattended with unneutered cats? It could be possible. I've read that yes they can get pregnant while they are still nursing, that is why you have to be CAREFUL. Please, as soon as this kitten is weaned get thecat SPAYED. We have WAAAAAY too many unwanted kittens and cats in this world already, most of which are being killed everyday. Please be responsible and spay.
