I really want a cat but my mom doesn't like animals all to much. i Love love love them. and REALLY want a cat. what are some good arguements I could give her. Cat's love must be painful...they cry in pain rather than joy. Why?

I have a tabby cat, 9 years old, he's just a basic house cat (domestic short hair?) He's gotten a bit overweight since his last vet visit, so the vet hasn't seen him like this. We feed him when ever he's hungry, but it's never been a problem.

If I play with him for a while each day, and only feed him twcie a day, will it hurt him at all?

I live in a remote area of Canada, and the only types of cat food that are available locally are the mass market supermarket brands (Whiskas, Purina, Purina ONE, Iams, etc.). The only available premium type brand is Science Diet. I know that a lot of people recommend the all natural brands like Nutro, Innova, etc, and that in the US, these brands are typically similar in price to Purina ONE or Iams. However, the cost of purchasing these in Canada as well as shipping them to my location makes anything not available locally cost prohibitive.

Of the major brands, which are the best for my cats? Looking at ingredient lists alone, Iams appears to heavily by product and corn meal laden. Purina One appears to be somewhat better than Science Diet. Any suggestions?

Well, me and my friend were walking and this cat with a collar followed us home from like a block away! so its house must be around there. I put a blanket outside for it but it won't lay on it and it's meowing and putting his paws on my door trying to get in! I feel bad and want to let it in but I already have a cat and they will fight! What should I do?

my cat is a female, shes about 4 years old, recently, like these past couple of months, she has been peeing everywhere possible. on the couches, on my pillow while im sleeping, on the stairs, next to the door, etc.. its really making me mad and also my parents want to get rid of her because of this. our house smells like cat urine because who knows where else she urinates. well im wondering if she has a problem? because she wasnt like this like 2 months ago. i noticed that i let her outside today, and she peed on our flowerpot, and then she was waiting by the door to let her back in. her litter is clean and these urinating cleaners are not helping! i would like to take her to the vet, but my parents dont want to pay for her since they dont like having a cat anyways, but i want to keep it! HELLP!

I just got a 7 week old kitten yesterday. She is so cute and sweet and I love her to death. But when my husband and I went to bed last night she would not let us sleep long. We went to bed around 9:30 and let her come sleep with us. She did go to sleep fast but woke me up at 11:30. I got up with her and took her to her food (she can get to it without me but I still took her to it) and she ate a little food and some water and the I took her to her littler box and she didn't need to go, so I played with her for about 30 mins and we went back to bed. She falls asleep again and so did I. But at 2:00 my husband woke up to the cat playing with MY hair (I didn't wake up to it but he did) lol. At that time I didn’t' get up with her I just rolled over and tried to keep her away from my husband (he had to get up at 5am to work I get to stay home and we don't have kids so he needed the sleep I can always take a nap). Well I feel back asleep and she did as well.
