It definitely sounds like earmites to me. If the cat scratches her ears, and cries about it, it's probably ear mites. It could be other things aswell, check for dry skin around the ears. I had a cat with dry skin around her ears and thought it was ear mites and went through that big process...Every however many days..Then this many days again, what a nightmare, she hated the stuff. Anyway, her ears may also not appear dirty if she does have mites, it's hard to tell. Take her to the vet and just get her checked out, it's the safest route.

It could be ear mites go to the vet and check it out but if you look on his ear and you see a big fat butted spider thing then its a tick you should get some twesers and pull it off if it is a tick then get some perroxcide so there will be no infection if its that case.

Like others have said... probably ear mites. However, if ear mite meds don't work... have a vet swab the ear and look under a microscope. My cat had what appeared to be chronic earmites. Nothing helped... then the vet swabbed it and realized it was a bacterial infection (looked just like earmites to the naked eye). One round of meds and it was gone forever.

Mites, probably. You would be able to see a tick clearly, particularly when it got gorged with blood from your cat.
