I came back to my aparment two days ago, and brought my cat with me in the car. she hates car rides, which is normal for her, but ever since we got home she has been acting so weird. she's been meowing and growling, not scratching, but meowing strangely. She growls when people pick her up but is normally so so sweet. She doesn't act hurt.
Also, at home, she chased a lot of mice, so i'm thinking that maybe she could have gotten some weird disease? I'm worried about her.

She's three years old. She's fixed and the car ride is over 5 hours. The aparment is not new she was here for 5 months before I took her home for the holidays.

She is probably fine and is having problems adjusting to her new environment. Cats do best with solid routines and when they have to change, it can be difficult.
Give her love and treats and keep things quiet. She should settle down within a few days.
If she has more behavioral changes or starts acting sick then you may want to take her to the Vet. Mice generally do not transfer disease but she may have picked up a parasite. My guess is that this is a behavioral thing instead of medical.

I have a cat that acts the same way for a few days after I take her some place in the car. She hates cars and going anywhere is a BIG deal because she will not allow anyone to touch her for a few days when we get home. I don't know why some cats act this way but I guess they do not adjust well! Anyway, she should be over this in 2-3 days. Keep and eye on her to make sure she is not ill.

Is this a new apartment for the cat? If so, she could just be getting used to her surroundings. It could be that it's unfamiliar to her which is why she's meowing/growling. If it's not a new place for her, she could just be 'acting out' after taking a car ride.
I'd keep an eye on her for a day or two, see if her actions calm down any. But if you're that worried about her, then call your vet and see if you should bring her in for a check-up.

Cats are wonderful pets but they are moody as well. It sounds like she is just still moody from the car ride. I have had that happen. I took Bella to the vet and when I brought her home she hissed at me for three days. I think cats have pretty good memory and I think your cat is holding a grudge. If she was sick from a mouse she would be throwin up or acting lethargic and cats never get sick from mice. So it sounds like she's holding a grudge and it has to do with her trip and the car ride. So time to buy her a new toy or treat and just let her find her old self. She will be fine. Unless she's pregnant????????????

She's either pregnant, in heat, or hurt. I have a male cat so obviously, the first two won't apply to him, but when he's sick or has some kind of cut/scrape, etc, he growls, despite being an incredibly sweet little fluffball. You may want to take her to the vet just to be sure she's not sick but my bet is that she's pregnant. Or, if she's in heat, either get her fixed or find her a little friend.

Perhaps she's just ticked with you that you dragged her along to some place she really didn't want to go, upset her perfect routine and now she's acting out. I'm thinking if she's a house cat she didn't catch any of those mice so I wouldn't worry about that. Cats might be natural predators but even they have to learn how to hunt.

It could a couple of things, but you should take her to a vet for sure. She could be pregnant, or in heat(wanting to bone with some male cats), she could have come in contact with out door cats, and seems them occasionally out the window and growls seeing them(my cat does that). Get her checked out.

Here's a link to cat behavior articles:

This may be an illness or even poisoning so I can't say for sure. It doesn't sound like anything I've encountered.
I check with the vet.

I had a cat once that acted like that. She was normally the sweetest cat in the world until she went into HEAT! Just find her a boyfriend cat and see if that calms her down some!!! HAHAHA Or take her to the vet and see if she is pregnant.

Maybe she's in heat. That means that she's ready to mate.
Or, maybe she's really telling you that this is it. No more car rides. It just isn't funny anymore.
Cats aren't really meant to go for car rides. Dogs do it, but cats aren't that type of animal. If they like it, fine, but if they don't, cats shouldn't be taken for rides.
